It gets worse. The more of these you turn in (I'm planting them by the dozens) the lower the price goes. Mine are now selling for about 6K. I'm curious as to how low they'll go or if there is a bottom cap.

Has never been over 30k each in my game...

well i'm on a fresh game without ever farming them so i kinda wonder why such a down price

Sell them in different systems, the prices are different.

Supply and demand. It's just simple economics. Every item you dump on the market lowers the value of that item.

Never seen them that valuable. Go for 50k~ in my game.

Alternate crops.

There's no economy. Economy implies supply and demand. There is no demand, and you are the only supply. This is just a basic nerf to selling the same items over and over in the same system. The price falls out, and either never recovers, or does so automagically after a very long period of time.

This is not correct. There is an economy, much like Oblivion where there are diminshing returns for selling the same item repeatedly.

Different systems buy and sell specific types of commodities at different prices.

Generally, the money management in the game is trying to point players towards crafting items rather than mass mining and selling.

Does this adjust itself overtime or will it always stay low? Given true economies, I would believe it rebounds overtime. Anyone confirm this? Astasia said it's automagically over a long period of time.

That's not an economy though. It's not even a simulated economy. It's just random price deviations based on the procedural generation, with a general nerf to selling things.

X3 has an economy.

I haven't seen prices recover, and I've heard from other people that they also have never seen prices recover. I assume they probably will eventually, but if they do it's a long time, and there's a chance they simply don't.

Sorry, I wasn't aware that anything had been published regarding the underlying economic mechanics. How exactly do you know that there is absolutely no simulation going on under the hood?

It depends on the economy type for starters, try to find the economy scanner to get started.
