But yeah, a walk ability for everyone would be appreciated.
It seems like that would be viable. But I don't know the mechanics of accomplishing it.
Like Cyberpunk 2077, GTA5, and RDR2, NMS must also 'walk' by default.
DEFINITELY YES.
Certainly you can toggle walk, at a certain point you will be able to get a combat scope that you will have to install in your multitool and with it, by right clicking while in laser weapon mode, you will activate the scope mode, after a few seconds without firing you will be able to walk in third person without problems on PC, greetings my friend, I was just looking for this problem and curiously at this very moment I installed the combat scope and I have answered myself hahah. I hope this helps you
Exactly the mod you want.
This exclusion is so stupid and easily soluble, and I will die on this hill. But hey, maybe now that we have a clear feature in the trailer that relies on walking, enough people will notice it's inaccessible to them and bring attention to the missing walking button.
W is move forward ie "walk", but the action the character does when you push that button is a fast movement, ie running. The OP wants a mod or a keybinding for normal move forward that equates to actual walking.
I'm a controller-user so it's not technically an issue for me (the zone for walking is a little finicky for my liking, though...), but I instantly knew what you meant.
This is the kind of detail I'd get real picky about myself if I were in your shoes and used a keyboard for play, but sadly the solutions would be such a tremendous pain it wouldn't be worth it.
My first instinct would have been to look in the Steam controller layout function, but given the name I doubt it actually lets you bind controller functions to keyboards. Still worth a look, it might work both ways, but like Hello Games, I suspect Valve never considered their niche players who want very specific things like, in this case, keyboard mapping controller functions.
Easy enough to do on keyboard just have to add combat scope and it let's you walk around very easy to do while.holding combat scope out of cpmbat
