Discovered by..... me????
I'm on Xbox, confused about the discovered by system. How does it work? Every planet and system I go to says it was discovered by me.

I just followed a youtube video to go to a system where we can find a S class multi-tool, I saw another human player there, probably doing the same, so I'm pretty sure that system wasn't discovered by me. When I check the discovery tab, also says discovered by me?!?!? Why doesn't it say it was discovered by another player?

I'm not sure what you mean, is that a no man's sky option?

See, another example, I just used a portal to reach the planet Lovil 123, like a youtuber did. On her game it shows Lovil 123 was discovered by Gracker. When I arrive at Lovil 123 in my game, it says discovered by me?!? I don't know why I don't see by Gracker.

In the Discovery Menu, at the bottom it should tell you if you are conected to the services or not.
If it's red, it won't sync.

What do you mean, around there where? Do you know a Xbox forum for NMS? I just came to a NMS forum with activity, the game is cross-platform now, many features are meant to work across the 3 platforms PC, Xbox and PS4.

It's a good question. In recent updates, maybe since Beyond I'm not sure, but discoveries have not always been that consistent I feel.

It depends on what galaxy you are in.
If you finished the game, you will know what I mean.

I've only come across one planet that wasn't discovered by me, when I joined my friends game.
Now, when I am in singleplayer and use his system to travel, it actually says it was discovered by him.

make sure you are in the same system.

it is entirely possible that others have been there before you, but if they don't claim it and you do, it'll show you as the discoverer

I'm in the Euclid galaxy. I also never see messages or droppable communication beacons from other players as I see on youtube videos. I know multiplayer works because I just saw another human player arrive at the same station I was and when I go to Space Anomaly, it's crowded by players from more than 1 platform.

I know that but I used a portal to travel to the S multi-tool space station Jason the youtuber shows, I saw another human player there. As I know it's a popular spot many players follow because of Jason's guide, the system should say discovered by someone else, not discovered by me.

If you're the first person to go in that system, it will be discovered by you.

There are ~4 billion regions with ~200-600 star systems in each, so a conservative 800 billion star systems.

The chances of you finding a system discovered by somebody else is... well... low xD

Thanks, that seems to be the problem. In my game, it always says "Connecting to Online Discovery Service" but never connects.

I found online other Xbox players who have the same issue. It seems the Hello Games servers can't cope with the huge afflux of new gamers from Xbox game pass lol.

Well that is true generally but if you visit another player base or hub you might find that there are more discovered systems when you start out and continue your journey from the visited system. Eventually routes through space other players have followed will diverge.

Jumping to another galaxy will also lower the chances.
