How do I get rid of an unwanted freighter?

So I helped a convoy, boarded it by request and the captain offered to give him command of the freighter. I foolishly accepted a B class freighter, haven't used it a bit cause I was doing other things then got the opportunity to do the same but with an S class one.

Guess what though, I can't get it because I can't afford the trade (even though it's free) and I can't ditch the B class one without having hundreds of millions of dollars.

Is there any loophole I can exploit to rid myself of this B class freighter?

The only free freighter you get is the first one. If you accept (which you don't have to) then you have to trade-in with all the other ones you encounter. Reload your manual save and replay if this is possible, that's the only solution.

yuck, too late for that. My current one I received days ago. This is really disheartening. Strange that I can't scrap it or just sell it for cheap.

You can Trade your freighter for a new one, but this will litterally cost several million units.
If your not to far into the game, could allways bite the bullet and start over. I've done that plenty of times. It just depends on how much time you put into your current save.

I can see how you could delete frigates. But would this work for deleting the freighter? I'll give it a try all the same.

Oh freighter? Misread. You just swap it like you would a ship, talk to the captain of a different freighter.

20 hours into my save and I just have the Class C that I took from the Captain (Been more focused on the base quests and just finished the annoying Artemis/Apollo/Null bull****). I rarely ever use freighters aside from warping and the quests they give you. Its not like its gonna matter once you have millions of units in your pocket you can just buy the one you like at ease eventually. Its super easy to make money in this game.

Actually, my freighter is now my mobile base, only bases I have on plants are a few mining bases here and there. Planets in this game are just not worth building on anymore. after you've been to a few 1000, they all start looking the same.
