Overplanting vs Wire glitch in Biodomes: An alternative method
Ever since biodomes were redesigned so you could harvest the entire dome at once, (using the little monitor button in the dome center), I noticed a proliferation of ways to overplant a dome, either by stacking domes on top of each other or by using the wire glitch...basically pulling a wire from an attachment point to the place you want to plant using the alternate wire/color menu, then quickly terminating the wire menu so it flips back to the planting menu, - then selecting that point. If you are lucky, the thing will plant wherever you are clicking. Supposedly if you are patient enough, you can plant thousands of plants in just one dome.

The problem is that on the PC this "wire glitch" method is difficult to implement. And even when properly implemented it's time consuming. Another method is stacking domes directly on top of each other, but that is frankly ugly and consumes resources (I hate making glass) since you are still building lots of biodomes.

I found another method, but am not sure if it will translate to everyones PC, but it works fine on mine, and it doesn't require building lots of biodomes or pulling wire for each planting. I noticed that whenever the biodome is refreshed, basically when you change its state by harvesting, or adding and then subtracting doors or corridors from it, you often can overplant in the *existing* planting rings, (even if you've already planted in them), so in time you may have 3 to 6 more plants in each of the 16 plant rings in the biodome. It is easier to do this from outside the dome, but I've also done it from within the dome.

The best way to set up for this is (1) wire the domes separately so that when you remove the corridors or doors leading into the dome it still has power and won't exclude the planting due to lack of power, (2) stand inside or outside the dome (or try both), then delete the doors and corridors to the dome, (3) swing your construction camera around to hit various angles on each planting ring, and it often will catch on the spot with the green ball indicator, even if there is already a plant in the ring. (4) plant as usual. I noticed though I have only been able to overplant the same species within each ring, so if there is already a frost plant, you must overplant with a frost plant. This is not a big deal for me since I always have a single crop per biodome anyway.

Using this easier method I can overplant and get 4000+ item harvests per biodome, dependent mainly on how much time I spend overplanting. There still is a bit of a waste of time figuring out the right angles to overplant, but it is more efficient than wire glitching, at least for me. It also feels less artificially glitchy than pulling wire to plant something, as you are simply planting more than one plant in the planting ring.

It also looks more like a normal biodome since the overplanted rings still look like they have 16 plants in them. If you look closely, you can still see some bunching or overlapping of the plant images, but overall it looks better.
