Let me ask you a question - which you may also ask yourself btw. - if it was the game's fault, how come that my dated rig runs NMS with zero issues. On high settings, I get solid 60 fps with a BUDGET card (RX 590 which you can buy for less than $200). On ultra it occasionally dips down to 45 fps, so I go with high instead of ultra.

No mans sky needs ram too bytheway. I had 8gb with rtx 2070 and it droped sometimes below 50. I added 8gb and problem was solved. I don't give my head but there is something missing from your rig. This is not game fault. I didn't go to hello games with my ram problem, it was obviously my problem what i had to face with. Nowadays everyone point to someone else... Sad world.

why dude? Why? So, because there are half of population with potato pcs, u want game development to stop improving? And where you take your statistics? Games improve... Ffs, if they would not, we would play arcade games atm.

Again...you said NMS requires an RTX card to run fine - that statement is not true at all.
I have an RX 590 (costs less than €200/$200) and the game runs perfectly fine (60fps, high settings, 1080p). You can probably get the same card used for about 100.-

Money is not most important thing to think about when you are game developer. Money is something what you need to make a game but the goal is to make game what has ambition, something different and next level and that might need better pcs to run. And if you are sucessful and u made a good game, money will follow. And i am pretty sure that indie devs don't start making game to be rich, this is EA who does that.
