Construction: How to bring a foundation (or anything) closer to have it elevated a few ft instead of 30 ft away
I want to build a base foundation a few feet off the ground. If I stand with the foundation selected to be built and look up slightly (move mouse up), the foundation moves like 20 ft away from me.

Is there any way to bring it closer to me so that it is elevated a few feet off the ground instead of having it far away from me?

I'm sure I'm missing something.

Try starting with an arch, press 'c' to go into build mode. Back up aways to where you want to start your build, and then you can add/delete foundation parts as you see fit.

You use them in the reverse way, you first build the room at the appropriate height, then you attach a foundation underneath.
To get the room up to the appropriate height, for example, you can use 'Cuboid Room Frames', which you then place the room on, then you remove Frames and put a Foundation in there instead.

You can also use the terrain manipulator to build a small hill then build your foundation on top of it. Then restore the terrain.

just remember the legs may be extended one time, and the next few times you visit they will be gone

Huh, so there is no way to control the distance lol. I'll do the terrain manipulator method, and build the room first, then foundation. Thanks everyone!

Place a cylindric room frame on top of another, remove the bottom one, clip a fundation to the top one, remove the top one, the fundation remains.
