Any way to dismantle Mining Beam from a multi tool?
I want one of my MTs to be pure combat, and would like to use the extra slot for a combat related upgrade, but more so don't want to have to cycle through the beam when cycling through weapons...

Any way to do this?

Save editor should be able to or at least I believe. Don't think there is any in game way to do that.

You can erase everything in your MT through the Save Editor, then how the game responds to it is another issue, make a backup first, in case it should mess up.
The mining beam can also be used as a weapon and destroy things I thought? It can be needed to efficiently mine resources that make ammunition and open dropped Sentinel pods quickly.

Yes, even as a combat setup, the basic laser is nice to grab the barrels the sentinals drop. I like to hotkey my MTs, 1. Mining/terrain manipulator/scanning and hotspot. 2. Boltcaster and the red laser weapon, can't remember the name atm. 3. Scatter blaster and grenades.

Thanks guys, having to do it with a save editor is kinda what I thought.
I know this is an old thread, but I'm currently running an advanced combat setup where I use a primary rifle, a sidearm, and then an Atlas tool for mining. I too would prefer the ability to remove, or even disable/disengage (not removal, but manually turned off), so I don't have to switch through it to get back to the weapon mode I'm using.

Then post your suggestion on zendesk. HG no longer reads these threads.

Just got a WIIILD idea: switch to the one you DONT want a mining laser, unequip everything except mining laser, put said mining laser in a slot you'll never use and can afford to lose, then JUMP TO A NEW GALAXY through the core. It will be broken! Then, just not-fix it. :gs_bubblegum: :steamhappy:

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
