Finding a RED solar System

Can some one help please trying to go to a Red Solar System and the map is crazy the way it works and I don't seem to be able to get the next part of the Arc mission thingy going.

Just select a red star in the galaxy map after installing the cadmium hyperdrive.

Arrr, so any red star regardless of filter is the one I want Wizard of Woz?

I am on a planet at present where I have mined Cadmium, although there does not seem to be much in the place, successfully. So that's a Red solar system?

Hmmm, I am doing the final bit of the Arc thing and it says go to a red solar system but nothing is progressing so I assume I am in the wrong solar system. Ant help would be appreciated as it is all ready.

The one you need to go to will have a red quest symbol next to it.

The star colors only apply with NO filters, otherwise the colors will be for the filter elements like different economies, different combat levels etc. So to see exact red systems you need to deactivate all filters first and chose a red sun.

I think the final jigsaw puzzle is in place for the colours and I've not seen the Red Quest symbol, but now I shall look for it..

Problem is I do everything wrong first then learn the right way. Not the best way but seems to be the way I do things.

Thing is I did the artimus First Traver thing over a week ago but could not get a better jump going etc and gave up untill I sorted my ship status up. Now it in much better shape I can go most places and am now trying to put this mission to bed.

Don't need to go to a red star system to get cadmium. You can get it from many of the upgrade ship modules by scrapping them.

Another way to get it is some of the weekend community missions that end up in those systems. But that's a stretch.

Otherwise, yes install the drive for red systems.

It was more that I wanted to know I could jump to these places then get the stuff initially.

These peoples got me back on the move again now. Just need to find water planets for the old pearl thingys. Only just managed to sus out this bit just now.

amazing how bad quest ai is, changes quests when u DO NOT want them to , blocks you from doing quest where u want, no u must go to some arbitrarily decided spot,

OH be careful who you talk to doing quests as it could bug out and block you completing said quest because of a previous quest...so broken

Loss of control is insane, achievements / saving at certain spots, using items to search = ONE TIME IS ENOUGH , dont need to ruin immersion with your stupid oh lets look a mile in the sky for no reason....wth

So don't do the quests, once you have your hyperdrive you never have to do another quest if you don't want to.

Seen the band a few times here in London. VERY LOUD, Very very good band. Flirting with Disaster is the first track I heard from them back in the mid 80's. Been hooked on them ever since. Nope aint not heard of the Muffin Man. Sounds like a Reggae band.

Yer there is some weirrrrrd stuff that goes on bug wise etc. I build vast tunnels etc and sunk my base into the side of a mountain once. Took 5 hours to do and all was ok for a week. Went back, all the tunnels have gone and the Base was filled with two moving Geks in solid rock. I had to blast it all out again.


Man it took an hour to get the place clean and rock free. The Gek complained coz' he likes a bit of Rock Music. But it just isnt the same after. Jokes aside I really did have a hard time setting it all up again. Oi Vey as some would say lol.

Hmmm I never found a Hyperdrive from quests. I cannot remember how I got it. But I aint been playing the way ya suppose to. I just sat down and started to figure some things out. But help is some times needed otherwise hours can be lost needlessly.

Well managed to get on to the next bit with the old traveller bit. Gotta say I just wanna get this thing to finish.

I had a lot of trouble with this quest. In the end I purchased another ship that did not have the Cadmium Drive. Then took it out for a spin and searched for a star that was flagged as needing a Cadmium Drive, but in range. Once found I marked the star as a way-point. Then went back to the station and swapped to my old ship with the Cadmium Drive. You could do this method with one ship if you locate the red star before upgrading the drive. By the way on my star chart the star did not look red so trying to pick one based on color does not work..

I am on an old save so really far along, but unless they changed it, an emeril drive will take you to any star system (yellow, red, blue, green).

I know the emeril drive still works that way, I am referring to getting one (as in, it wasn't locked behind owning the other drive types).
