I just got (soft) locked.
I finished the fourth? mission in the save artemis storyline, got thrown on a random planet, and when i got to my ship, it had damaged launchers!
The tooltip says i needed Pure Ferr and one di-hyd, which is fair, but when i click into it it says i need GOLD!!

GOLD?! On a goldless planet?? .. i cant go to space, i have no way to leave the planet, theres no gold in sight...

I tried to relaunch the game in case it was just a glitch, but no, i still require gold while the tool tip says other wise.

what am i suppose to do here? Did i do something wrong?

That's strange. Can you summon one of your other ships?

Have you tried save-reload?

Yeah i tried backing out to the menu, came back, still needed gold on a 'critical failure'
I backed out of the whole game, came back, still. same.

i guess i could make a whole base, power it, and make/use a teleporter, but i'd still need to find a terminal to buy gold.

The only things you should need to repair to get back to space is the launch thrusters and pulse drive. Neither of those should require gold.

I suggest contacting the zendesk and file a bug report then download the save editor and use that to fix it.

Your in game options are
Find terminal or trader that sells gold
Find crashed ship
Find a rock that had gold as a secondary resource
Scrap a tech that gives you gold
Build a medical refiner and make gold.

Something else to try:

Don't click on the launch thruster. Instead, grab a jelly and drop it directly on the broken module.

If that works you can do the same with some ferrite dust.

Look around the planet for the metal fingers. They give gold and uranium which will fix your ship and also give you fuel to take off.

You aren't alone, I've been reporting this issue as long as I can remember. Have never found the reason why it happens or any way to fix it. :(

I've seen this before, too, but I already had all that stuff with me so was able to bypass the glitch. If you fired at asteroids to any extent ever, you would have gold in your inventory. It's weird, but occasionally the requirements for building a blueprint item get scrambled, saying one thing then asking for another. You could disassemble another mod that requires gold...that will drop the gold in your inventory. Metal fingers are common on all planet types also, but you may have to wander around massively first looking for them.

are there any trading posts on the planet?
if they don't sell gold, you can at least buy a crappy little ship, go to space, harvest some gold and come back. later scap this ship.
in every case, put a save beacon near your damaged ship to find it again when it loses the "active ship" icon.

The beacon is the best idea, but even if they forget, if you buy a new ship, they old ship is saved and will be placed, broken, on your freighter when you get one. This goes for crashed ships too. If you don't fix it when you claim it, it will automatically migrate to your freighter. I guess there must be an intergalactic towing company out there.

You can also call broken ships without fuel inside your base perimeter.

You could also have a friend join you in multiplayer and bring you enough gold to make repairs.
Launch fuel is all you need to get to a space station , etc. Gold ? I never saw that

I once had a similar bug, that a a recipe states I needed wrong materials. Try to simply gather pure Fer and use it on the thrusters
