Cannot Warp Freighter here ????

This message I get a lot. When i am building bases or warping around and i want to summon my freighter, I often get this message. Why???

I jump around a few systems, land somewhere, leave again and suddenly, I can summon it. But i am missing the logic behind it. When can i summon my freighter?

basically, you are too close to another freighter, another player's freighter is in your system (unlikely) Your freighter does not have the required upgrade to go to your system (like if you don't have the temporal warp computer, you can't go to blue stars) There are pirates nearby or a wanted pirate or a freighter attack in your system, you are too close to a space station, planet, anomaly, or, as I said earlier, another freighter. That's all the reasons.

you can warp anywhere then call your freighter if you have the right hyper drive installed in your freighter. just like you can take a portal anywhere and call your starship to you.

thanx all for your reactions. I will see what upgrade i do not have installed. There are still two more upgrades I can get. Still, I never had this problem with m first character (386 hours in the game). And my latest character (400 hours in the game) has it now for the last few weeks.

I will check tomorrow on the last two upgrades

Which is a good indicator it is that your frieghter is lacking the proper upgrade and you were trying to jump to a green or blue star system (based on you saying you have two more upgrades). It used to be that summoning your freighter didn't care about distance or the star type, but that was changed recently and now it cares about star type when summoning.

Thanx, I am testing this in an hour. And it is probably just that, because i am mainly operating into blue systems at the moment... So that is probably it. Will let you all know

Yes, that was it. Never had this problem before, so it was very strange for me to encounter this. Maybe a hint for Devs to make a clearer errortext.

The need to have the correct warp upgrade to call your freighter in colored star systems was stealthy introduced with ExoMech 2.4 upgrade a month ago. Initially I was confused too then someone explained me. I can't find any note about the issue in the patchnotes and don't know if it's intended or something bugged out.

But you are right, before ExoMech you didn't need any upgrade to call in your freighter.

The upgrades are for specific sun types and warp distances AFAIK.

Yes, good point. I should say that the OP might be trying to get his freighter to a different class of star without the appropriate drive, it might not just be the distance.

I think they work on the same numbers. I don't think you can call it in if it cant make the distance.

You can call it anywhere that you have the proper drive types installed. Otherwise it's just the certain area in the system that NMS does not like so you need to move around to get a better spot.

I go through black holes and then summon the freighter so is is not distance or fuel.
