Do Buried Technology Modules respawn?
I’ve been looking around different articles for an answer to the above question. Do Buried technology modules respond? Or are there a finite amount on each planet?

I think they do respawn, but it takes a while. Just pick a base and find a nearby module. Dig it up and keep coming back from time to time. Make sure it is not within your base radius though.

Ah thanks. Now for the follow up newb question... what happens if it’s in the radius of my base?

Not sure if it makes a difference. It's just that terrain edits are protected inside your base, so maybe the module would not respawn. I suppose the best approach is to pick one inside and one outside your base, then report your findings on this forum.

The process of digging it is considered to be part of your modifying the area for your base and it won't respawn.

Given the excessive amount of time that it takes to respawn anyway, it is completely impractical to try "farming" them in one location, if that's what you're thinking of doing.

No, not trying to farm. Just trying to figure out if I can keep exploring the planet I created a base on for salvaged tech or if there’s a point when it doesn’t respawn buried modules anymore and I need to move on to continue the search.

if it isn't to close to your base they respawn every time you reload the save. you can literally pick it up save reload the save and pick it up again. the saves don't load very fast and it isn't fun even if you can get it to be effective. most people don't reload the save and usually don't restart until after the end of their play session so some people might think it takes a while if they play in 8 hour sessions.

You can still get them legitimately just as fast if not faster with a well upgraded geo roamer. That's what i do when i need them but i've farmed 100's by now i don't have much need for them usually i just give them to my friends since i have everything. They are a great source of income in the early game though.
