So, I Have A Glitched Cracking Void Egg....

I completed the the Starbirth quest, I have my Living Ship.

. . . And for some reason, I still have the Cracking Void Egg from the last leg of the quest. The game glitched and didn't "use" the egg at the end of the quest. It's still sitting here in my inventory.

So . . . questions:

1) Has anyone else had this happen to them?

2) If yes to the above, is there anything I can DO with this thing? I mean, I know I could just sell it (for a pretty paltry amount), but that seems like it might be a waste. Does anyone know if I am able to use THIS egg to get a second Living Ship? I know you can fly around with a new Void Egg and you'll eventually encounter a Living Ship in space, and they'll give you a new Living Ship for 10,000 Nanites, but . . . will a Cracking Egg trigger the encounter?

3) Does anyone need this? Like, did anyone accidentally lose or discard or sell their Cracking Egg without meaning to and thus can't complete the Starbirth quest, and then need a new one? 'Cuz I got one if you do. (I only ask because I saw a post last month from someone who had this problem.)

I know this is a weird one, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Not an urgent dilemma or anything, not causing me any trouble, just . . . unsure what to do. *shrug, LOL*

2) I carried mine around for a while and nothing happened, so I just stored it. Don't know if anyone else can use it.

yes i ended up with 3 eggs two neural bridges, its a bug that still has not been fixed, best just junking it as it is now useless.

found out you can not give it away once its in the mission cycle as in your case the cracking phase, the egg is locked to you if i am correct, not sure its been a few weeks since i did it.

same glitch happened to me because of a game crash. i kept it in my cargo pack for a long time and eventually ran across a fallen host and aquired a second living ship.

have had this glitch happen.. i now have 2 living ships.
so... they will give you an option to get another one if you jump around between worlds.

edit: everytime i go into space i will get the same message and get a new ship... erm...

edit 2: the 3th ship that should've been spawned is.. not there.

Old thread, I know, but I still have the same problem. I finished the quest like a WEEK ago and I just now noticed there's still a cracking void egg on my old explorer. I think I'll just destroy it when I salvage the ship, since I can't afford to waste storage space.

This happened to me and i put it in my Frieghter. I'm just worried it will prevent me from getting the space event with Living Ship upgrades

LMAO @John Titor: Yeah, I hadn't logged onto the site here in a while, and lo and behold, a bunch of replies from a post I made a year and a half ago. *shrug*

For anyone wondering, ultimately I just sold the thing and it didn't cause any problems. Harmless glitch. We can put this one to bed.

It happens a lot. It is useless. It can mess with other people's missions if given to them. It can confuse your save in regards to having completed Starbirth; sometimes causing problems as a result.
Simply DELETE it.
