Starbirth (Void Egg) mission - coords not getting more precise (stuck at xx.??)
I have a void egg and am near the end of the Starbirth drill and it sent me to coords on this planet, but it never narrowed them beyond -25.??, +99.?? I have been flying around this area scanning for a long time now. I put a beacon at exactly -25.50, +98.50 and am flying out from that. Saved, reloaded several times. It wanted me to go to a fungal planet, which egg said this is, but it's one of the exotic planets with the pods / metal looking mushroom things.

Has anyone heard of this happening? This mission is stuck, it seems.

This is the second save I am doing the Living Ship thing in -- Eissentam. Did the Euclid one right when the egg appeared, had no such issue.

Thanks.

If you have already [correctly] completed the starbirth quest once, a new egg should not be sending you to any planets again. You should have been told to offer your egg in exchange for a Host (alien ship in need of an egg) and then received a marker directly to its location (which also pings on your ship scanner as a crash site).

If you are going through the process of tracking down coordinates all over again, you've somehow broken something.

It's a different save slot.

You say you've done this before. How can you not remember which biomes were involved?

Also... by your own measure you're at least half a degree off-target. :tipheal:

Or, he's mistaking that he's at the end. With the egg you get sent to 3 planets looking for coordinates. He's on the first it sounds like.

The egg quests sends you to three different planets. The first two coordinates are pretty obvious once you get close to one or the other coordinates.

The last planet step you'll be looking for a giant wheel supported by a platform with a button on the front facing side.

I generally zig zag along to get where the coordinates are.

I'll concentrate on one coordinate, while seeing that I'm on approach to the second.

When I get to -60.?? -98.?? I'll land and create a vehicle pad and search on foot.

The last one for me was stuck on the side of a hill so I couldn't see it from the enter of the grid. I had to get out and use the visor to check where I was every few thousands yards. You'll eventually see the structure once you get on LoD range.

I'm having a similar issue on the Starbirth mission. I've gone to the planet with the unstable coordinates to find the Obelisk. The coordinates have stablised a lot since I've been trying to find the building, but there just isn't anything there. I know the terrain around the entire area like the back of my hand now, having walked and driven all over it. I've scanned, driven, walked, scanned again and spent a few hours around the area, but nothing. Visited every Knowledge stone, Cargo drop is a 2 degree square area that covers the coordinate fluctuation. The Obelisk isn't there. Could it be underground?

I was struggling with this and noticed that when I get close I had to land, get out and finish finding the cords with my multi tool scanner.

I've kinda given up on this one for now. I concluded it was a bug that wasn't rendering the Obelisk. I based this on a few times when my own ship didn't render! It was invisible!! There has been an update since I last tried, so might have been fixed now.

I really wish they would have allowed us to get the living ship as a sixth ship. I just do not have any ships I want to give up bad enough to try the living ship.

Im stuck with the void egg, it leads me to a place without coordinates. I keep following the green line on the galaxy map but with no end, anyone knows what i should do?

See if the quest offers to "Reset to current location"
