Autosave not working and now neither is the manual save
This is something I just noticed recently but right now my game only saves via manual save. When I go into “Saved Game Data” in the optics tab it has my most recent manual save listed first followed my an older autosave. Anyone else encounter this issue?

**Update** Since this post, neither save is working (despite many attempts) and I now have a .tmp.drivedownload folder in with my NMS save files. Have no idea what that is but it won't even let me back up my game right now as it says I don't have the permissions.

The first one listed is always the most recent save, wether it's an autosave or manual save it doesn't matter. That's also what the game loads at start.
So there is no issue, it's how it works.

Well since typing this earlier, my ability save manually no longer works despite many attempts to save. I reloaded and even rebooted my PC and still having the issue. I looked in my save file folder and there is a .tmp.drivedownload folder in with the save files. I have no idea what this is but it seems to have permissions attached to it and won't let me copy my save files. It's really bizzarre.

From a quick search it seems that .tmp.drivedownload is associated with GoogleDrive. So I suspect that is the cause of your problem, not NMS. Good luck finding a fix.

First thing, I would turn off Cloud Save in Steam for this game, then maybe check: you have ALL privileges on your computer, have you? If not, you must start apps with "Execute as Administrator" (right mouse click). Also your drive where NMS is installed must be fully accessible meaning that the savegame folder must have read & write status, and not read-only. If you cannot delete something inside the savegame folder - or the folder itself it means it's a protected folder. Install your game elsewhere.

But I can't imagine that this is it, so I have no real solution, sorry.

Ok, I'll double check my settings. Many thanks though for the response and suggestions.
