My father doesn't have much time for gaming so Creative is brilliant for him to enjoy exploring, missions, managing freighters, building stuff, discovering creatures and multi-play. It has everything all the other modes have. What you do not experience though is your heart thumping occasionally :) That's no bad thing. If you play it long enough you often forget that you can not be hurt and still take on the nasty beasties, like you find at Abandoned buildings, with some care.
You do need to earn Quicksilver and nanites but credit wise you still earn units, except that units really do not matter as you can just sell everythiing without worry to collect enough units to buy whatever you want. You do have to follow the story and missions to complete ranks and milestones and to find recipes etc. Fuel has to be replenished but it is a resource so you just click and carry on. Once you have recipes etc you can make unlimited high value items to earn units. The point of Creative is to be creative, have fun, explore.
Building race tracks and bases with friends and stuff can be a lot of fun. If you have a Normal mode in the same galaxy as a creative Mode save you can always note locations to visit in either modes and waypoint or make a note of the portal addresses. Then you can visit the same systems and build bases or race tracks ,you planned in Creative Mode. The race tracks and bases then take on another dimension (danger) when rebuilt in non creative modes. You shouldn't feel spoilt as there is still too much to do and not enough time :)
Mods can also help manage base building or make things easier in the trickier modes. But really this is accomplished already by having contrasting game modes. This gives you complete freedom to play however you wish. Some players only wish to build stuff and using mods they can use Creative Mode to experiment with designs for other modes. That can be complex but everyone benefits from their exciting creativity on show.
Creative mode I think would be ideal for you to try and perhaps give you some relief from the frustrations of the other modes. YOu could experiment how to manage inventory in Creative and with what you learn put to good use better inventory management in the other modes. If I have only one tip, that is to keep two slots filled of every basic resource. That's all you need to make everything else and keep them topped up from time to time when you stumble across a resource.
Thanks for the input though, I think I'm in the right spot.
To create the mode something like you want especially if you have done everything and completed everything, there are mods to keep the interest alive. There is a mod to allow umlimited hyperdrive travel and doesn't dull the charm of the game if what you want is ro explore. There are more than a billion stars to visit after all :) Also if you search Google thoroughly you can find tutorials how to create unlimited resources. Most PS4 games have 'cheat' modes and No Mans Sky is no exception...
You have to decide if that really is the best way you want to enjoy No Mans Sky. If it is then that's fine :) Armed with such knowledge some modes might not be quite the same again but they won't be any less fun and if it helps your particular solo game then that is cool. No Mans Sky is an odd game in that after having completed everything, I still think it works best as intended.
Tricks may make Survival and Permadeath easier to manage but you can still lose a life with greater penalty. If you're playing those modes anyway, it is likely you know how to collect resources well, without needing 'tricks', which are really only of limited use in the early part of the game. If anyone reading this has never played No Man's Sky, don't try mods or tricks until at least you've completed the main story.
