Transferring a Steam save file from one account to another?

Is it possible to move a save file between accounts on one computer? I have two save files in Windows (C:) > Users > username > AppData > Roaming > HelloGames > NMS, but I need to know how to move one to another account.

I have two accounts and I've kind of left the other one to dust, but I've made somewhat significant progress on that very account.

Any help?

EDIT: Yes, I've read multiple other threads with pretty much the exact same title and never found an answer so let's get that out of the way.

From what I understand, if you want to replace the save files form one account to another, turning off Steam Cloud Save for a moment, and transferring files, and turning Steam Cloud Save back on should work. But it will replace NMS player data on the other PC.

I'm not sure how one can pick and choose what slots go to what in another set of save files. I imagine the NMS Save File Editor could help with merging stuff, but I'm not sure off hand.

I don't think you can directly do what you are asking but you can approximate it with the Save Editor. Using the SE you can copy your bases, your ships and inventory. While you can't control the storyline you can give yourself everything that completing it would do.

HM, i think he can do it. every account has another _st1234567890 number.
Just copy the save files from _st123456789 to _st987654321 and it should work. in case you have occupied game slots then rename all respective files mf_save and save.hg
Slot1 save.hg save2.hg + mf_save.hg / mf_save2.hg
Slot2 save3 / save4 + mf_save3 / mf_save4
Slot3 5/6

I had only one save file so this was easy to do.

I copied the save I wanted to move (every file from the folder, cache included) and deleted the files in the other folder before pasting in the copied files. That's how you transfer a save file from one account to another.
