Worth at 30 dollars?
I'd pay 20 for it in a heartbeat, but 30?

I paid 60 with no regrets. It is a matter of taste and disposal income.

If you'd spend twenty on it so readily, you'll probably get your money's worth at thirty.

If you like exploration, some base building, and a touch of survival, $30 is likely worth it to you... assuming typical disposal income for someone that has a PC able to run the game in a decent fashion.

Just realize that NMS is still a work, and that Hello Games is an indie development team. But they are still passionate about the game... even though the planned scope of it is likely oversized for a group their size to properly handle. But then again, you don't gain much if there is no risk or ambitions; and the expansive world they made, and on such a compact engine, is pretty ambitious.

If feeling particularly generous, buying it for $60 would give HG a bit more money (after everyone else gets their share), which they can always use. While I can't really make a good argument saying it is worth it at $60 for everyone that is into games similar to NMS, there are those that feel as though $60 is worth it, and I believe them and don't consider them crazy. The amount of hours they put in on it shows they did get more than their money's worth out of it.
(but I don't think those are typical results)

The latest abyss update alone adds most of the functionality of another game, Subnautica and that game costs that amount on sale.

In other words, yes but I want to warn you: this game is for a certain type of enjoyment. I do not feel like the game-play is very goal oriented. It leans hard on free exploration and atmosphere, even with the updates.

I think the most compelling reason to purchase is that the team actively is trying to make the best 'galaxy-sized' sandbox humanity has seen. If you see this as a grand scale piece of installation art, then its easy to justify supporting the artist. Whether or not this is how you want to spend your time is purely subjective, but I think general consesus is that the game is, whether or not you enjoy it, notably visionary.

I think you should go for it. Its worth the 30$ risk, if only to experience the flavor.

if you cant afford $30 for a game please go and play hopscotch that is cheaper.
i spend more than $30 just on a takeout...its all relative though as i paid full price but i have got my money back in the hours played so far.

Yes it's definitively worth 30 bucks. 60? not so much. It has a LOT of bugs, infact it is the most buginfested game I've ever played.

^ ooooh... look son !
.....someone who never played any BGS game ! (rather any video game for the past 20 years) :o

Dont worry about NMS, it has some bugs (actually most players issues come from their system or from pebkacs*) but it just works !.... so it's well worth your 30 bucks and more

*(in case someone wonder what pebkac mean) P.roblem E.xists B.etween K.eyboard A.nd C.hair...

I bought it at $60 and bought a copy a year later at $60 for my brother. Both of us have logged over 800 hours in the game so far.

Its VERY worth it at $30. easy.

If you have to ask, then you can't afford it.
