Better multi-tools?

After 20+ stations i can't find a good mining multi-tool, just crap class C ones, so is there a tip to find the best ones, like class A mining tools or even exotic? I have modules in my actual tool but the 0% mining make's it a pain in the ass.

I have not noticed any pattern to finding better ones. So far, I've found 2 class A multi-tools, one was given to me for free (with broken slots) at a random stop on a random planet and the other cost a ton of money (which I didn't have at the time) and was located on the anomoly. behind the Gek guy

They went back to procedural generation on this. Reloading a save won't change it, but closing the game and relaunching it will. I only noticed a change in slots and class with reloading the game. The name and look stayed the same. I don't think you can still visit past planets where others had located one anymore either. Settlements, Space Stations and Anomalies are you best bets.

I think it's random. I found one class A but I couldn't afford it. I am hoping it's still there now that I have the money. The class A that I found was in the space anomoly station (the one that gives you the big nanite reward for progress) but that could be entirely random also.

I can confirm that going to a place where a friend found a good one will not mean you will find a good one.

40 hours since snext, still got my starter tool. All i can find are A and S tools. Can't afford them.

I was given my S-Class 24 Slot Multitool while I ws farming languages from the big monoliths.

You know, the monoliths where it gives a scenario and if you choose the right one you get a reward.

I have never seen another S-Class, but I've seen A-Class 24 ones in space stations.

It's always the big guns, not the pistols. I don't know if this is the same for other people but that's how it is for me.

The best I've seen since the update for sale at a space station was a 23 slot B grade unit.

The A grade 24 slot (?) or so that I use was found at a home on a planet.

The weirdest one for sale I saw at a station is an Alien make and looks like no other - it was a C class 20 slot unit with really boosted mining specs.

Keep looking and even a up-graded C 23 slot tool is useful.

Since the latest patch I don't seem to find any good multi-tools. Another nerf probably.

I have had pretty decent multi tools. However if u want the best use a portal and find the address of a great multi tool.

I found my current favourite multi-tool in the Anomaly station. So don't forget to check there too at least -- but it's all quite random.

Another thing to bear in mind is that most of the time (but not always) the offered upgrades at stations are incremental, so you should consider taking one that has only one more slot (if you're after more slots, of course) even if you wanted a lot more. Similarly if you currently have a class C, consider taking a class B, since it's more likely after that to be offered class As in future.

I do have a Class A rifle with 23 slots now.. but still no success in finding a mining tool.

i've only found a B class but to be fair, i've been working on maxing out my Exosuit along with setup a solid base location. wanna have a spot to warp back to before i go multiplayer with my friends.

you know it occours to me, we can have multiple ships now but only 1 multi tool? i'd love to have a pistol with a high mining bonus and few slots so i could turn it into my only tool for mining. then my rifle be my combat weapon.

a change like that though is probably anywhere from never to way far off in the future.
