Base Computer Archives quest?
Does the Base Computer Archives quest ever come to an end? I reason I ask is that for the past 3 days the nase computer keeps sending me to the same building on the same planet to access a terminal. Once I have done that and exit the terminal the clock starts to tick down again for the next part of the which has me having to access the base computer 6 hours later only to be sent back again to the same building on the same planet all over again.

Now each time I get sent there the text is different so I am guessing the quest is not stuck but just wish to know how long it will take to finish as it is getting a drag going backwards and forward every 6 hours.

I got sick of having to go back to that terminal, so I erased the base expecting the game would have the sense to relocate the mission location to one of my other base terminals.

It did not.

Now, my save game is corrupt and won't load.

You can have as many bases as you like and complete the computer part of that at any of your base computers. Just have the mission selected. Might have to upload the base before you start to complete the mission. I have a dozen bases across as many systems, been doing that mission same as you. It tells you the percentage of where you are at with it if you read the dialog.

If I may 'second' what Dawg is saying, you can create Bases virtally 'anywhere' now - you don't have to "look for a place to place a place" as I say lol - you can Craft a Base Computer anywhere if you collect the Materials. Then, you can access it from each one you make, as you travel further and further away. They are nice little posts to stop at, if you have a Mission that takes you back to previous Systems!

.
If I may add a question: Does the 'research/unlocking' time keep going if you close the game and aren't playing? Or do you have to be playing for the hours/minutes to count down?

The clock ticks down in real even when you are not in game,

not really on topic, but try starting a new game by joining someone's MP lobby, use their base computer rather than setting up your own and proceed to do the quests from their computer. Eventually, you should be sent to a Base Computer Archive icon "off-planet" that is floating in the middle of space.. That is as much of a spoiler as I will give regarding this, and I hope HG never fixes this bug.. The visual effect that awaits at the waypoint are amazing and well worth trying this out for yourself..
Quest line is slightly bugged. Make sure you are close to a base computer before selecting the quest in your log which will ensure that you can use that base computer to proceed. If you select it while docked in a space station for example, it will lock onto your frigate if it is in the same system. At that point you will have to create a base computer on a planet in that system to proceed. There's also no way around it becasue the quest line offers many important base recipes which you won't get if you don't finish it (container storage, vehicles, landing plattform, better refining stations just to name a few). It's finished once you reach 100% (read the quest text).

this quest is hella broken. I have had to glitch the game to get it to remember where my base was, its on a HOUR AND HALF COOLDOWN so tommorrow when you try the next step, you can find out that your glitching it to work doesnt work anymore. Oh, and there are recipes you can only get from that dumb quest there. Gamebreaking af.

I got to 100% according to the Base Computer after several hour and half mission's of which I got blueprints for completeing each one.

After that it started sending me to this same system and the same planet and the same building. Each time a different section of text is presented and the same piece of equipment is given at the end and the clock resets on the Base Computer to a another 6 hour countdown.

All I want to know, is there an end to these 6 hour waits between each mission or does it go on forever.

I have a similar problem, i build another base then deleted it, now the quest send me to the computer but the computer doesn't give anything and the quest doens't move on. I will probably need to restart the game AGAIN!

It is exactly what is happening to me, my quest point to my frigate, but my frigate and my base are in the same system. any ideias how to work around this? maybe if i go to another system build a new base then select the quest line again would it work?

\just go to another system and land on any planet call your freighter there. Then go back to your base system and the mission should reset to give the right location.

For me it points to another system.
I warp there and it tells me that it's in another system again(home base)..
Back and forth..

I tried building a base and activating the mission from there, but that lead me to the freighter bug which I fixed..but went back to the first bug.

Any tips to fix this ingame or with a savegame editor?

Worked perfectly, thank you very much.
