Can you bring salvaged ships back on your freighter?

I found two wrecked ships on a planet, since it wasnt that hard to bring them to flying conditions, i did so and "aquired" the 2 ships, making 3 in total.
I want to keep all the ships, i dont want to sell them (although it should be possible imo).
Is it possible to bring salvaged ships back on your freighter?
I tried to summon them into the ships bay on the freighter (like you do on a planet surface) but you cant.

Yes you can have them on your freighter but you have to fly them there. Iirc the limit is five or six ships, unless that changed with NEXT.

You need to go to space station teleport out of the system where your freighter is then teleport back to the system where your freighter is and dock with the freighter and you 2 salvaged ships should be there.

on a converse note, i do not have a freighter but i picked up an a class fighter last night which i was in the process of restoring but when i reloaded it was gone, will it reappear when i get a freighter or am i ourt that ship because i do not have a freighter?

If you reloaded or crashed (either) mid salvage, chances are great that it's gone.

Kind of? I have 4 ships in addition to my main. I fixed none of them. When I go to my freighter & summon them, nothing happens. If I reload then they all appear (but after that no other ship will land on my freighter). If I exit the game, I the ships disappear again making me start the process over.

im going to assume its gone, and that was a good A class fighter too, oh well, guess i grind for freighter before hunting for more ships

I never managed to get my other ships to show up on the freighter, no matter how many times I teleport and redock or warp or reload the game. Also it doesn't let me change ships when on the freighter either, but I have zero problems swapping out ships on a planet.

Do I have to somehow 'claim' the ship first before it's considered mine ? Or is just interacting with it sufficient to make it mine ? After that, then jump out then back into system and it'll automatically be transported from planet to my already-in-system freighter ? Is that the process to keep a found broken ship ?

Just fix the ship. Get out. You should get a restore point. Reload your game. Ship should be on your freighter.

NOTE: When you exit the game or something, not sure what, but the ship WILL DISAPPEAR and not be on your freighter anymore. BUT you can summon that specific ship on a planet tho. So its yours, just not visible on your freighter. Weird, huh?

Any ship you own will goto your freighter no matter what. No need to repair any of it for it to work.
Just goto your freghter and save and reload game. It will be there.

p.s While it will "auto" goto your fireighter you will need to repair the launch thrusters if your tring to summon it someplace.

All you have to do is get the salvaged ship and when u go back to ur freighter it should be inside ur freighter

Going to a space station and teleporting out of the star system worked for me. I ran into this today by accident. I found two wrecked ships and gave up on repairing them. After leaving the planet a complete failure I ran into some guys trying to steal a freighter I killed them and got the freighter as a reward. Couple hours later I teleported out of the star system and then back to my new freighter and there was the two ships i abandoned sitting in the freighter still broken and on fire but im not complaining. lol

add the ship, dont exchange it, get in, get out, go back to your other ship and leave. Call your freighter, and it should be there. Just moving your freighter across the system is enough. Or you can leave it there until you have a freighter and then, after you confirm the freighter is yours get in your starship, move the freighter and the crashed starship should be there. you shouldnt even have to fix it. I usually fix the shields, pulse engine and launch thrusters IDK why, its really just something to do.

All solutions above are not correct or incomplete.
To get your ships in your freighter suffice to go into space and summon your FREIGHTER. All your ships will be inside, no need to do anything else, no need to go to space station as proposed in the solution.

If you don't have a freighter, your ships can be summoned from the Quickmenu as long as their Thruster and Pulse Engines are repaired and if your current ship has launch fuel loaded.
