How do i craft paraffinium ?
They say you can craft it with ferrite dust but i can only get pure ferrite from the refiner.... Anybody know ?

You get access to a medium and large refiner in your base later on, which allow you to combine multiple ingredients to make something different. It's probably one of those (though I don't know the exact recipe myself).

You can also mine it.

so far I also mine it.

You can also refine it by putting salt + star bulbs as the input for the refinery (or salt + whatever plant, for biome-specific minerals). 2 plants + 1 salt = 3 resource, so it's not too bad if you have farms, tho if you're farming you might just as well buy the stuff with all the units you'll be making. I have no idea how to get it from Ferrite, tho.

It might be a mixup with the other way around; if you refine Paraffinium by itself it turns into Ferrite.

I very much like the idea of the large refinery combining new old stuff, but Star Bulb's are annoying to collect and better to use during the big bux tech manufacturing.

I prefer dropping in the supermarket (space station) and picking up a couple of K worth then storing around for a long while (same with oxygen). Freighters are good for this, you can 'beam' some down to a planet base's container, or access direct via docking. I like to hover to icon, then press 'W' (forward) to add 10 units each press, drop that in another slot and tx.

...as for mining, I based up near a paraffin pit plus a copper pit, but when I place tech to extract (rather than mine it all in one go) - they both contain copper when I recharge the unit. But the copper machine (as I now call it regardless) is always close by.
The answer to this thread is 2:1 Pyrite to Ferrite = Paraffinium if anyone stumbles on this thread this many years later that’s the answer …

There's an even cheaper recipe available. 1x Silver and 1x Oxygen will produce 2x Paraffinium. Learned about that one after grinding for the stuff during the 17th expedition; it was a real d'oh moment I won't soon forget.
Neither refinery recipe existed in 2018 when this topic died its natural death before being needlessly necroed.
