Reliable way to find new multi-tool?

I'm about six hours into this new game and I've yet to come across a new multi-tool. Anyone know a reliable way to find some? I know Nada and Polo have one, but I can't afford that one yet. :/ Thanks in advance!

How I found mine, I just visited the multi-tool trader at the spacestation. He's on your right hand side when you land, up the ramp. I've seen experimental, alien, rifle, pistol etc. Then again, I've also jumped like 55 times...

You get multitools from small trading posts - they are in a case on the wall. Since the update there is also always a single multitool in the space station in a case next to the multitool upgrades trader. Getting a multitool from a case like this costs money.

You can also get them from Nada, but like you said that also costs money.

You can also rarely get them from interactions with aliens, monuments, and I think manufacturing facilities... not sure about that last one. I do not remember if these methods cost money.

Every space station in every system has two upper deck areas. When you're entering the station, the left deck area has 3 blueprint/nanite traders. One of them has a gun rack on the wall that opens up with a multtool for sale. Also, planets will often have small buildings with a trader inside, and they also have a rack on the wall that offers a new multitool.

Almost any Vykeen hub will have a person who will offer you a broken one, usually high slot count but with several slots needing cash and item investments in order to make it fully functional.

The anomaly has one on the right side as well, though it doesn't look like it at first because it kinda looks more like a decorative pillar.
