if your salvaged ship's value is higher, you can switch it for free even if you don't repair it
It's actually cheaper than it used to be. The unit cost got steadily higher in the past, now you can repair them for free with some mining, but if you buy the mats to make the items yourself, it still costs less. For instance, to repair like 5 slots would be 2500 Chromatic metal, it would come out to around 350-400k depending on the system. Slots in the past would of steadily increased to over 300k at that point, so yeah. I like the new way, even though I mainly use them for tradein value.
Agree. Costs Time and resources to repair salvaged ships. However I got a 32 slot hauler that was worth about 4.2 Million, however a similar hauler is worth about 42 million so I am assuming that unrepaired ships are prized less. But I used it to find me a 16 slot A class ship, a big upgrade to the starter ship.
If they could implement a way to sell ships within the market, you could become a Scavenger. Hunt Derelict ships and sell them.
