I've seen it for sale at a Space Station terminal. Not enough run-time on 1.5.x to know how common that is, though.

you need to upgrade your warp engines so you can go to red , green , blue systems since most of the materials are abundant in certain color systems .

Living glass comes from the construction or science guy who you hire at your base. Do a couple of the missions he askes and that is on of the rewards.

Looks like it was "Experimental/Medium Supply"
IIRC, it was being sold by a nanite vendor at one of the on planet trade centers that has a multi-tool on the wall for sell, trade terminal, nanite vendor, npc, with the small landing pad connected outside.

It was a fairly valuable trade good used in construction of some base parts such as the Bio-dome. Now it's mid-range value still used in crafting.

Living glass sells for a lot (at least Pre-NEXT update), great if you source materials from farming to sell it.

The blueprint I found for a cryo chamber sells for.much much more. That's why I want it. Buy living glass for about 800k. Buy cryo pump for about 2.3mill. Sell cryo chamber for about 4.6 mill.
