Better restart a fresh save (and keep the older one incase they fix anything that needs it to make it fully enjoyable with older save)
Starting you will simply make you re learn the game, and it's really needed.
I was pretty up to date with many in depth game mechanics before NEXT, I'm simply enjoying the way to re learn all in a different matter.
EDIT
Don't try to rush anything, it's time walled for the base start...
and at some point you come back to getting your first Gek employee...
I'm only there now, but I guess the rest will follow up like in old days
Make sure you check often your missions list and seélect the correct one too
If yes, once you are in missions listing, look for a base logo, and activate it
Read - Follow what is written lower right corner
If yes, indeed you hit the "waiting wall" things will come along
I was at a loss too, just follow all other things and quests, improve your standings, make units, and at some point the base quest will update in your quest list.
That's why you check manually
Thank you so much for the help!!
Anyway, enjoy this new build of the game
