How does multi/pvp work ?

Co-op is simply a matter of just trying not to shoot each other. Having said that, it means PvP is enabled in the loosest of terms, because there is friendly fire at all times. If you want to start PvP, you just start shooting.

If you ever played free roam in GTAV, it's exactly like that.

i clearly hope such glorious idea like PVP in a exploring game will NEVER EVER work...

regarding multiplayer in general.. i think either your steam friends can join you on purpose or, if active, randoms can randomly be assigned to your session if they decide to join a random explorer.

what happens when the players are in different systems in their saves? do they get pushed into the "host" system? and what happens when going back to the singleplayer? do they stay in the host's system?

multiplayer does not work the way it should!, it was the big hype, they got everything else right except for the biggest part!

I haven't gotten that far yet. During my session with two friends last night, I had already moved two systems from the beginning before they started playing.

The game asked them to make a character, obviously since they had none. The game didn't ask them what mode to choose, but obviously it was in "Normal" mode since my game was in Normal, and you can't play with others of a different difficulty.

They spawned in a random planet in my current system, though both of them on the same one. I was docked at a space station in space at the time. The game was having them go through their tutorial, but I was able to fly to them and actually see them and help them out.

But we never changed systems yet. More than likely they will appear right where they logged off if I'm in the same system, but what happens I change systems and then they log on, or if I change systems while they're on I have no idea.

As far as saves go, the save system seems to be the same as if you were playing by yourself. So the only thing I can think of is that when you "save" as a client, the game saves your progress. We confirmed this because one of my friends crashed. When he came back, only progress up to his last save was there.

As far as location goes, it's probably only saved on the host's computer, so if they were to play on someone else's game or their own game, it might be somewhere else, or wherever they were last in that game, while missions/inventory is probably universal. Supposedly when you join a game it will ask what character you want to join as.

Random players that arent in your group are not floating orbs. Don't comment on something you havent seen or experienced.

They look like players, they can harm you and interact with the world as if they were in your group. When you "kick" them from the instance they will become a orb that will not be able to interact with you or the world around you.

The orb is basically a player in a different instance. I have only tried this stuff with a friend who lives in the same country. I have a portal on my base and used it to get to their base. (Joined their game, used their portal which saved it onto my portal, left their game and used my portal to get to them in solo). I could see and interact with them as if we were still in the group. The only difference is you can't do freighter missions and you dont see a icon above their head unless you are directly looking at them.

If I don`t join anyone`s game nor have anyone joining me but happen to be on the same planet as someone else, will that person show up as a spirit orb or will I actually be able to see the person? And could I see 16+ random people at the same time or once there were more than 16 people the rest would show up as orbs?

Basically, they didn't cater to the whiny overgrown diaper-wearing mom's-basement dwelling neckbeards who have this really big hang up about being attacked by other players. They left it completely free play style where anything goes. A true raw sandbox.

One would think people expecting deeper immersion would welcome the unpredictable nature of other people. But that's why they are whiny overgrown diaper-wearing mom's-basement dwelling neckbeards in the first place. They do not know how to cope with the presence of dissimilar individuals.

When in a group, players dont have limits to where they can go. When you join a game, you will always spawn in the hosts system. When you leave and go to your solo game you will be where you were last time you were in solo.

I based off what I read from others, not first-hand. My game was locked after all. Hence why I said "or something," to give doubt. Chill.

You will be able to see 16 random people, not orbs. They will be able to interact with you etc etc. unless you kick them from that instance, they will become orbs.

there is no meaning to multiplayer in this game, you farm/build and talk along sid eone another that is all you do together. it needs serious attention in the multiplayer department, it is still basically a single player experience with a very nice improvement in graphics etc, that is it~!== nothing else
