"Guest" in a friend's base?

Hi,
I was playing with a friend (I joined his game)? He built a base, when I look at the computer base thing, it says I'm a guest, and I can't use his teleporter.
Is there a way to change that?

I'm not 100% sure myself, but I was able to use my friends base teleporter from the local space station when he uploaded his base. Your friend can select the "Upload base" option from their base computer. Once you travel from the space station to your friends teleporter you should be able to use it I think? Or maybe it's only one way i.e. you can only travel TO your friends base, not from it.

Nothing changed, still considered a guest, and can't use item on his base. :/
