However, warping normally with the freighter in the cockpit does use warp cells.
Don't do this. Warping in your freighter menu is better. As I said earlier, one cell in a freigther can get you to five systems while one warp cell in a starship can only get you one system. It's cheaper and more efficent to use your freighter to warp.
Hyperdrive Module Upgrades are a thing, usually available in every space station. They cost nanites and should be one of the first module upgrades you buy, next to the scanner upgrades.
S-rank provides +200LY warp range, and double warp cell efficiency, the latter increasing the amount of charge a single warp cells grant.s
Once you have traveled more, and hit each space station for a suit upgrade (tube behind the merchant) you can start assigning slots to your suit's cargo storage. These hold double the quantity of normal suit slots so are useful for storing things like chromic metal or other manufactured materials. This allows you to more easily make a dozen or so warp cells at once without most of your main inventory being filled with materials.
If you set your terrain tool to the smaller radius (mouse wheel) you will get more much more ore from a source, but at the cost of time and ferrite.
But were talking about someone who doesn't have their hands on this tech, so Freighter jump is faster.
Well, ♥♥♥♥! I feel stupid now!
