"Locate Apollo's contact" not showing in Galaxy Map
Hey.

I have the quest stage currently showing:

Apollo's contact will assist in the construction or expansion of your base.
Find the contact to learn more.
In space, access the Galaxy Map ([X]) to find their location.

The icon showed up originally, I warped to the system and got into a space fight, now the icon has disappeared completely. Even when warping to another system and then bringing up the Galaxy Map again it still won't show. There are no other icons to go by.

Has anyone else encountered this bug, and if so - could you resolve it?

I have tried restarting; I don't have a save prior to the bug.
Scanning in the system didn't work, as well as travelling to several other systems.

bump

Seems like a few of us (me included) are having this issue. I've been searching for a solution, but nothing concrete yet. One guy on reddit told me he just started doing the Atlas quests and the bug fixed itself, but that hasn't worked for me. Another guy said he tried going to five or six Atlas stations after that suggestion, and nothing has changed for him either.

Hopefully devs are working on it, but I haven't heard anything from them yet.

Thank you for the response. I've started tinkering with my save file, might start a new game and see what it looks like before I get to that stage and see if I can revert the mission and try again that way.

If not then I'll just continue with the new game (if that one works lol).
---
Edit:
So messing with the save file worked for me, no new game.

I changed the following in the mission "^ACT1_STEP9":
1. Progress: -1 (was 6)
2. I copied the BuildingSeed from "MissionGiver" to "Primary" (yours will look different):
"BuildingSeed":[ true, "0xCDA32D4ADB0D8231" ],

I then changed "^ACT1_STEP8" Progress to '1'. Saved the file and then loaded the game. Redid the holo talk and continued as normal.

If you do the same, you'll notice you have the same quest twice, just do the one from before and it'll fix it.

Good luck

thanks for the info but this did not work for me my missiongive buildingseed :[true,"0x0"],is the same as my primary buildingseed

It's just the location seed from what I can tell. So if you have another quest nearby in a building with NPC's (I think it needs to be a Gek system) then that should work.

Yes either reset the quest as above, or it sounds silly but move around a bit and rescan with C key. For me this relocated the signal.

how do you reset???
Otawin Aug 4, 2018 @ 12:02pm
For anyone having this problem, go to your base and research the blueprint for the cylinderic room (you'll need 3x salvaged technology). It will skip the part of the quest where you need to find the contact.

My solution was to teleport to another random station and reset the mission, next thing you know it was only a couple jumps away.

I've already researched that and it's still showing me that part of the mission...

You need to move to a system out of range of the contact. If you're having trouble finding one, you could try the portal at the nexus and warp to another players base or one of the community highlights from there. That should take you far enough away that you can go into the log menu, select the mission and it should give you the option to hold down the middle button or mouse wheel to reset the mission using local systems

No that's not the problem, I can reset the mission whenever I'm in a different system.

But what Otawin suggested - that you can skip that part of the mission if you have researched the blueprint for the cylinderic room - is simply not true, that's what I was pointing out.

But yes I'm still stuck in that mission and resetting it didn't help. I think the issue might be that I'm way too far off from the state the mission expects, it's a beginners mission, but I've already played the game for 130h and several years, built many bases, done all kinds of stuff, so maybe because I've already fulfilled all the requirements a long time ago (and only continued doing this mission now), it's in a weird, buggy state? I don't know.

I've tried all kinds of suggestions I could find online, none of them helped. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: Lol, now it worked. I guess I hadn't reset it last night after all, was just too tired. xD
And OMG this mission is so basic, now it's trying to 'teach' me how to gather nanites. I hate tutorials! Glad when I can finally be done with this whole storyline and continue exploring, I just really need to learn the remaining 15 Glyphs so I can travel to planets that I've seen on Youtube.
