i am getting a message to check my homebase computer for blueprint updates. when i go to my base nothing happens. i then notice that the game is saying my homebase is now on my freighter but there is nothing there for me to interact with.

I have the exact same bug happening. Real pain.

Same problem here, I do not know how to deal with it. any idea ?
I tried to make a nex base, with a new computer on a planet, and I an't access the archives from it...

I saw a workaround for this either here or on redit. It worked for me. Go into space and call your freighter, it will move away from the way point. Go back to your base and save. Exit to the menu and reload. This should kick the waypoint down to the base. You should be able to use the computer. I'd suggest resaving since doing this caused me to crash once shortly after. No problems since then though.

yes it's a knowing bug atm. the mission is glitched out at the piont you get your freighter. best is if you can try to build a new base computer on a other location. you can always delete them after or reload to the point before you get the freighter

i was told the effective workaround by another player. stand at the base you want to use then summon the freighter to orbit. if it works the red icon will appear over your terminal. you may have to do it twice but it worked for me.

This workaround isn't working now? On the latest patch and my base is listed as the freighter. Tried both methods here and it's not triggering the quest.

I got around it by calling my freighter into a different system, going back to the system where it thinks my base computer is, and planting a new base on the closest planet.

I did this and it worked when none of the other suggestions did! Thankyou!

the trtick is to stand at your base and recall it to low orbit. you may have to do it two or three times but it will work.

What's the workaround if you don't have a freighter? Or at last I don't think I do? I have my starter ship, is that the freighter? how do I call it?

I had this bug and I recently fixed it by making a new base on the same solar system and saving the game, then reloading and access that base for the archives. I don't know If It always has to be that base and if it will switch back to your original base, but it is worth a try.

actually having the freighter helps alot. this bug will repeat it self a few times. each time you need to stand at your base and recall the freighter to low orbit. you may need to repeat the step and at one point may need to go into orbit with your ship and access the galaxy map.

This doesn't work for me. If the freighter isn't there the base will be at a fixed point in orbit wherever the freighter used to be, with no way to interact with it.

Building a new base in another system doesn't work

Building a new base on a different planet in the same system doesn't work either.

Ok finally got this sorted out thanks to the tips here. When you land on the planet where your base computer is, don't just try to summon the freighter from within your ship. Get out of the ship, press 'x' and choose the "summon vehicle" option and select to summon your freighter form there. Your freighter will appear in the sky above you and voila, the base computer you are standing next to will suddenly be the correct one.

I had the quest selected while I did this. Don't know if that makes a difference.

For future google searchers, save yourself some time, and just do this:

1) Warp your freighter using summon vehicle option whilst on foot in your base, so the freighter warps in directly above your base location. (Don't wrap the freighter when in your starship)

2) Now delete your base via the option to do so in the base computer terminal.

3) Now rebuild the base computer terminal, and claim the site.

4) Then you'll auto interact with the base computer terminal, and it will do it's thing, and the quest will proceed correctly. (You should get a storage blueprint plan if it worked correctly)
