No Trade Commodities for sale?
I've checked around a dozen systems and spent about 6 hours trying to find any trade commodities. I have never seen an advantagous price in any galactic trading hub, from any planetside trader, never seen an advantageous price from talking to other pilots at the same station/freigher. If I am buying the price is always +%, if I am selling it is always -%, and I have never seen any trade commodities. I got one from a mission so they are definitely still in the game. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Noticed the same, not sure if this is the new normal. I forget, do systems still have different economy types?
They do. The economic scanner is still in the game, its only purpose is to facilitate commodity trading. Is anyone able to confirm that they actually DO see trade commodities anywhere?

I DO see them as reward from missions. (3 pieces for no... maybe it goes higher with ranks, but I doubt that)

I guess the old trading en masse is over though. I also never spotted any in trading plateforms or outposts

I've located trading posts with the economy scanner, but have not located any (profitable) trade goods. Everything appears to be selling for above the galactic base price, I wonder if this is a bug instead of the old trading getting scrapped; it makes no sense for HG to scrap the trading system.

Yeah, usually the changes have been transformitive or additive, not reductive, so I'm a bit disorientated. I don't know if the goods available in a given system shift enough that it might make sense to move them between systems, like the grayed-out goods that show up when you're selling were, if I remember right, sometimes goods that are in demand. I sort of wanted more out of the trade goods than what was available last time but it was nice to be able to make some cash through multi-system runs, especially since I naturally wind up getting ships that max out the cargo space anyway.

I was testing out trying buy things that were low in one system, but was not available in another, and sticking to the old trade pattern; it didn't work out. I'm not sure what is happening with galactic trade at this point. I can't tell if it's bugged or a new system has been implemented. Nothing i try to sell appears to make any profit.,they all sell for less than what I paid to get them for.

You are trying this with things that resemble the old trade goods, which have descriptions that say they're best in X type systems? I did just get a small pile of trade goods like that for my last mission reward but haven't headed toward a system that might match yet. Given what you say, it doesn't sound intentional unless it's something they were going to iron out later.

So, as a reward for a mission I got a trade good that said it was sought in manufacturing systems. I went to one and sold it at a plus percentage. So the trade commodities DO exist and can be sold for a profit relative to the base price, but the problem is finding them.

pretty sure the way they have it is as follows:

trade commodities are only given as a reward or as a creation in the refineries. if you look at the items you can buy such as cryogenic chamber, you'll see it has a list of things it is made from. and those things are made from other things. so there is a way to create them. you just need to get far enough into the game to do so

I can see why they did this, makes it harder to make easy money early game. You need like a proper base setup and stuff now to do it. What I do for money early game, is once I get the terraformer thing for my multitool is look for freighter wrecks, as they usually have 6 boxes you can open and i've gotten items worth over 1 mil out of those things.

All those items that are used to craft the stasis device or the fusion ignitor is NOT what old pllayers refer as to Market comodities or trade commodities, which are those
https://nomanssky.gamepedia.com/Trade_commodity#Market_Commodities
Again all from that list used to be bought -45% to -25% and sold +45% to +25%

You used to fill ALL your slots with the most expansives ones, and make BIG units in one go.

What you refer to, cryogenic chamber, geodesite, iridesite, etc are what were called (and still are) crafting goods.
The good thing is now you can buy them while you may miss a blueprint along the way, and that's a cool process though

Don't get me wrong though, the high end item sell for big incomes but it was also the case before NEXT.
Trading is what has changed big time

I haven't seen any trade commodities as originally published yet (for sale). I have seen one advantageous sale item (Drop Pod data) at +29% in an affluent economy and happened upon a starbase trading terminal that sold @ -4%, so that was a 25% profit. That has been the only thing I've seen so far in the Next update.

By reading this thread, I think I can guess what may have happened. Rather than auto generating trade goods at a trading outpost, it is set up so that they need to be produced and sold to the trading posts. Once the supply passes a certain threshold of demand, the prices start dropping, it is assumed that the traders will then grab these and sell them in their respective systems.

However, the issue is that this is only viable if there is a concentration of players in multiple adjacent systems and if the markets are being updated on a frequent basis. Has anyone been able to check the galactic markets around the "Galactic Hub" to see if this is the case?

After spending a bit more time traveling it seems that trade goods, at least so far that I've seen, are only rewards for missions, both for fleets and for missions for the guilds. They tend to be the high price ones, so you'll get a decent return if you choose to travel to the right economy and sell it. I haven't seen, in my admittedly young game, any formulas that'll give you a trade good, and haven't seen any sign that the economy is terribly dynamic when it comes to selling stuff. I feel like the prices are controlled in part by each system economy's "health", so some pay more than others. I think it might have been this way before. I thought before if the market got saturated in a given system the return reduced, maybe that's still true I'm not sure.

So regarding the OP, they still exist but are more a conditional source of units, rather than an explicit buy low, sell high trading activity like they used to be. I hope this is temporary, because it seems like a bit of a loss in terms of ways to play. If there are any other ways to trade like you used to I've tended to only see red or white percentages except for one specific item...

Now I saw a comment from someone in experimental saying they will be back...
