how to destroy building? (SOLVED - im a nub)

so im building a new base... and i place a floor in the wrong spot (wood) but anything i do will not remove it?

ahhh lol i am blind ... go into build menu then ctrl to delete

THANK YOU MAN I'm just as blind and I've been seeing people say "press ctrl" before but no one ever said to go into the build menu first!!! You saved me a lot more headache!

Came across this thread as I just started playing the game (despite buying at launch lol). In case anybody else ends up here like I did, here's how I found out how to do it in 2022:

- Press Z to enter deployment mode
- Press C to edit existing structures
- Point at the thing you want to remove and press X - you will get back the materials it cost
