GOG Save to Steam Game?

anyone transfered a GOG Version save game to the team version?

GOG are doing a 100% customer base refund (store credit) due to the GOG patch not having multi-player and just a promise from Helo Games to add it this year. So, I was thinking on taking them up on that and transfering the save game to Steam version.

GoG saves are not compatible with Steam platform, for many reasons. That's...just not gonna happen.

No true, I was able to load my GOG version into Steam version.

Simply saying you just loaded your GOG save into the Steam version might be all well and good, but without any detail, you're not exactly helping the OP, are you?

From the GOG forums - for the OP and anyone else wanting to try this:

I have no problems with game transfer from steam to gog or from gog to steam.. i do it many times per day... you should transfer the complete Folder "DefaultUser" to the Steam Folder "st_YOURPLAYERID". Because the mp_save.hg file is the "savekey" for the real save file save.hg. You need both that the save will work, in gog and in steam...

I never need a editor... i don't know why all people write this... maybe trolls....

And if you use both than you should disable cloud save for steam and gog!

It's simple, you don't need any save editors or stuff like that now.

NMS saves are stored at C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS

GOG puts your saves in a folder called DefaultUser, there should be another folder called st_ with a bunch of numbers. That's the Steam one, if its not there try starting a new game in Steam then just quit. And you just have to copy the save files from DefaultUser to the Steam folder and they'll be there. Worked for me.

This solution worked for me: created a new game on Steam then copy paste files from Default folder!
