Where can I get platinum?

So one of my frigates got damaged and I need platinum to repair it. I've check multiple systems and can't find it anywhere. I've checked online and it says it's found in astroids but im not finding any at all. I'm probably being an idiot but has anyone got any tips where I can find the stuff?

Use the portable refinery. I forgot what it takes (I recall it being common), but that is what you use to get it.

There used to be plants that yielded some as well. Small, blue, spiky, flowers. I don't know if they survived the new elemental changes though. You can also buy it from the trade terminals if you just need a little bit. (only if they have it in stock of course though) As mentioned above, asteroids are probably the best way, and highest yield, if you can find some with it.

Tritium in a refienry yields platinum. I knew it would be straightr forward!

Tritium in a refinery yields Di-hydrogen now. You can't make platinum this way anymore.

I think some of the crystal type looking asteroids give them.

Yup, unfortunately, that's true. It was one of the recent changes.

Yeah, as mentioned the crystal asteriods drop about 15 plat each.

portable refiners only have one slot what are you talking about?

Medium and large refiners have more, allowing combos.

yeah there are all types of refinery shenanigans to get up too, there is a way to make unlimited chromatic metal from copper

so if you are not much into base building, you should probably buy platinium.

If my bad and old memory serves, I think I have seen (but that's indeed a rarity) in caves insted of cobalt, a lone rock of the same exact looking that was platinium. Just don't count on that as a main source lol
