Thrust Issue

Today I've noticed that when pressing W for thrust it doesn't work, anyone else having this issue?

In specific instances I've been stuck hovering after launching and have been unable to move forward, but it was pretty much only with those anomaly rings. If I launched too close to them it'd effectively freeze my game because I'd never be able to land or fly again. Other than that, though, I haven't noticed anything like that. Are there specific circumstances that are part of this?

I only use shift anyway, as it stops on a dime, whereas adding w makes it coast on after lifting.
