Long warp times?
Is this normal? Stuck on warping screen sequence everytime I warp from systems to systems or planets to space stations. It clears after like 5c minutes but always happens

The warp screen is, in fact, a loading screen. This could indicate your computer is not up to par. What are your specs?

i5 2500k, geforce 960gtx, 12 gigs of ram, hdd 7200rpm, anything else I need to list for specs?

Verify your files, delete mods, lower your game settings, start a new game (in creative to save time) and see if the problem persists in other saves. If you're using windows 8, try using compatibility mode. If nobody else throws some more ideas, try reinstalling. 5 minutes does not sound right. Mine is 40 seconds at most and my harddrive is on its last legs, i mean, its loud after 5 years.

My rig isnt too much more than yours, just I have a gtx 1050ti but your gpu is more than others I've seen who play this game.

Basically, you shouldn't be getting 5 minutes loading times with your specs, with any above the minimum requirements.

I had very long warp times. When I upgraded to Win 10 and got a new graphics card it became very fast.

Are you perhaps using Windows 7? There is a problem related to that OS which wasn't letting my game connect to the discovery server. It made my warp times much longer, as I assume my game was timing out trying to connect to it.

Once I fixed that network issue in Windows 7, my warp times drastically improved without any other changes to my computer. It involves enabling TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2.

Here's a link to an older thread that fixed this for me:

Even if you're not on Windows 7, it might be worth checking whether this is enabled on your OS. I understand that the discovery service doesn't allow TLS 1.0 to connect to it, which Windows 7 apparently uses as its default.

Can't offer more than the sound suggestions above. Usually the load time to a space station or freighter save is maybe half of that for a busy planet or complex base because there is much less data to load. If you can't see a difference I would check files/OS first, a machine that's not faster-loading with a freighter-save would be so stressed that you might struggle to be able to play at all (but I presume can).

Good luck

Just to double-check, are the windows power saving options set to high performance?
"Control Panel\Hardware\Power Options"

I've noticed that if I forget to switch it to high performance, it makes loads much longer than normal.

@blinky thanks for that, I am using windows 7 so that might be the case, I'll try the fix on there and see what happens
