Probably a mod.

Yeah I wish the storage containers were a bit smaller. Sometimes it's annoying to have to build a room two walls high to fit it inside.

Some may consider it a mod, but with the NMSSaveEditor it is relatively easy. Make the Up value less than one.

Especially when towards mid-end game, those 3x3x2 cuboid room size "storage" containers can hold less than your personal inventory, ship inventory, and freighter inventory. Those things should be a vault capable of hundreds of slots, not just 20-25, since you only get 10 of them. In terms of actual storage, they're a joke.

I'm at a point where I just use my spare starships for storage since it's a lot more convenient and between the 5 of them, I can store a whole hell of a lot more.

They could be smaller. But I use them more for the fact that all # storage containers are linked.
It's nice to be able to get what is in it from any base.

But you can only build one of each number container?

Any of the base building mods, GBase or Beyond Base building, enable scaling for all items.

Per base, correct

I use the NMSSaveEditor a lot. Not to give myself quicksilver or units, but to build with fewer restrictions. The screenshot below is an example. I was inspired by small storage containers I saw on a weekend event mission. Using the SE allows me to be mod free so NMS updates are not a concern.

There is a learning curve, and some math knowledge is most helpful; say some algebra and trigonometry.

That's about the size they should be based on how much they actually hold! LMAO

They hold a whole lot more than they used to. That's why I only used 5 of the 10 storage units available.

25 slots is still garbage though for how much space they take up (OG sizing). The only benefit is the slightly increased stack on some[/b] items. I normally get higher stacking in my freighter and ships, so I just use those and hop onto my freighter if I absolutely need something (which is hardly the case).
