Guide to getting your second Living ship
Whether you've seen a better looking ship in the nexus or seen better stats on a youtube video, learnt something you didn't know before evolving your modules. You want yourself a Do-Over
Here is what I learnt from spawning 100 + living ships over the course of 13 hours straight.

A few rules for optimisation:
Do no pulse in systems you already visited the mother ship will spawn like every other random encounter and sometimes this will take 20+ minutes. instead warp to any yellow star, there is this notion that red green or blue stars affect color of the ship this is wrong because upon warping to a coloured star you will receive coordinates outside of the system for a yellow star 100% of the time.
Also you want to warp and clear the freighter vs pirates event (every 5 warps) before you start. Nothing is more annoying than have to evade or defend the freighter 130 times to get to the fallen host. Once freighter event is cleared buy you egg make a manual save.( I do recommend collecting 34000 nanites all upgrades before any of this.) No sense in rushing this you want this to be your last grind for the LS.

on save launch, take your living ship and warp in free explore to any yellow star. Pulse for 20 seconds to 2 mins the mother ship will constantly appear as the first encounter.
Check out the living ship (check real the colors with camera or within inventory portrait ):

Desired stats are based on the max i've seen in MY rather short sampling over 13 h (this is my experience there are maybe higher stats out there so consider these a minimum) :

Damage 304.6 (lowest encountered 254.6)
Shield 180.3 ( constant)
Hyperdrive 165.8 ( you want this over 160 since it's where the ship shines)
Maneouvrability 225.8 it's fairly constant but i've seen lower, do not accept anything less
since 225 will only net you 630 fully upgraded. It's where the living ship really under performs you don't want to make it worse.

If the ship sucks just reload the manual save.
Note : after a while it will spawn normal ships instead of living ship, I suppose the living ship spawns and remplaces a crash ship location sometimes script fails. Leave the game and reload until the crash ship reverts back to a living one.
Once you got the ship with the looks right for you and desirable stats install all your prefarms modules and evolve them to A class, Shield modules and neural assembly allways cap out so go to S on those . jump out of the ship to autosave.

From this point on you'll jump out and save for each perfect module roll.

we will start with spewing vents :
you want 8% dmg
3% atkspeed
3% overheat
remember to save with every successfull roll
your damage should be 316 with a 304 base

moving on to hyperdrive
my max module proc is 248 LY and the modules always comes with the second stat at 100%
I recomend accepting anything above 244 LY
Your LY should be 2800 + with a 165 base and 244 LY average
save every successfull proc.

Grafted eyes
26% (I recall seeing 27% somewhere) double check that 95% overheat this is the highest I went but i didn't obsess other this module. I run into s class modules everyday and eventually will cap it.

Finally Pulsing Heart modules
Efficiency is allways 20%
maneouvrability 12%
Boost 15%
Here I focus on manoeuvrability and only accept 12% because while boost can drop to 11%
Manoeuvrability pitfalls to 6% and as mentioned this is the worst stat on the living ship you want as much as you can get.
Save at every 12% maneuvrability.
Maneuvrability should be at 631.6

Feel free to screenshots of base stats on Living ships /S modules that you come across and that higher so I can update this post, don't use Youtube videos or fully upgraded ship as reference (they could be tweaked with save editors) again just personnal experience here hoping it will help.

Manual saves are slow for the task of finding the right ship. If you reject the being, you get the egg back and the next pulse event will be mother ship again (unless they very recently changed something). With a manual save you'll find a ship every 4 minutes or so, rejecting the being every 45 seconds to a minute.

Everything else is good though

I manual save from freighter so I am back to warping under the minute and are immune to encounters. by reloading you can contantly reroll stats and skins even if you always go to the same place.

If the 'mother ship' sends you back to a site you've already cleared... you've lost the egg.

Reloading sounds safer.

The only time I was sent back to the same spot was when I was manually reloading in between each and every ship.

I'd still manual save before starting the hunt, but rejecting and repeating is way faster.

Manual save and warp as per Shina, loading screen when loading the manual save, some time spent in the galaxy map, loading screen during warp, finally pulse to encounter the mother ship. That can and does take several minutes.

Versus rejecting, where as soon as you clear atmo and pulse you are contacted by the mother ship again. Takes less than a single minute.

I ve had instances where ship doesn't appear on the first pulse after rejecting happened to khrazegaming too so different experience I imagine.

So... save, buy egg, search, find nothing of note, reload, warp, repeat? :steammocking:

And know what to look out for =3 I honestly feel that If you put that amount of dedication to finding an Exotic S class and maxing it, the payoff will be greater ;p

Considering there's only the one exotic per system and reloading until it turns up gets really boring after a while, I much prefer this new thing.

We'll see what the future brings. For now, I'm just browsing.

~~~
Ship stats, rounded to nearest whole number:
1) 263-180-162-208
2) 302-180-165-230
3) To Be Determined
It's the aesthetics that are bothering me. #1 looks great from any angle but the back; #2 looks great from any angle but the front. Which is weird... because they both have the same nose!
nub here, managed to squeeze 249 ly on the hyperdrive s module
*edit* got solid 250 ly!
"spawning 100 + living" How did you get that many eggs!? :O
Happy Monkey May 29, 2020 @ 8:35am
They are spawning a ship, looking at it to see if it's one they like, then reloading the game to try again if it isn't.
