Traveling to a different Galaxy
I've spent way too much time researching this topic to no avail. This is the most undocumented game I've ever played in my life, let alone there is little to no reliable information or videos on this.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me how in hell can one travel to a different galaxy? I am new to this game, but I've already completed the entire Artemis Path quest line and all the Atlas quest line.

so far I've gathered that I need to reach the galactic core which by itself can take million real life years, but once I reached the galactic core, what happens next?
Do I get to choose which galaxy I want to travel to? or do I move to the next galaxy on the list.

for instance, if I am in Euclid and I reached the GC, do I get to choose which galaxy I want to go to or does it send me to the next one on the list which is Hilbert Dimension?

Also, is there an alternative way to travel between galaxies

I'd really appreciate if someone can be as detailed as possible.

Thanks,

If you do the artemis quest, you should get to the point where you start getting random portal glyphs every warp. THEN you need to go to a portal and the ATLAS will take you to a place where you can "create" a new galaxy out of 4 choices, each galaxy has a seed which stresses a specific biome: green is lush, red is extreme, and blue is cold, and white is balanced.. THAT's how you do it without traveling to the center. If you do it the old fashion way, then you get the same result.

Option 1: Artemis > Euclid, Hilbert, Calypso, Budullangr or Eissentam

Option 2: All the way to the middle > Hilbert

Option 3: Space Anomaly > Big Teleporter > ???

Option 4: Space Anomaly > The Nexus > ???

Notes: options #3 and #4 require the cooperation of at least one other player. If the 'Artemis Path' has already been completed and you elected to stay in Euclid, option #1 is not an option.

I have also done quite some research on this issue. I did the Artemis Apollo quest and ended up with the four pillars. But I messed up. I jumped right into the first one, not knowing there was a choice and I should have a look at all four. So I ended up in Hilbert Dimension and I so want to find lush planets. Now I started to slowly find my way all to the middle, still 400 something thousand light years away. Are you telling me that this is going to bring me to Hilbert Dimension again? *Sigh* Thank you.

Thanks guys but I am still super confused. Maybe I'll just post some YES/NO questions to make it easier.
quick note: I've already completed the Artemis quest and picked the Budullangr galaxy. I had no idea what that stupid orbs even meant so I just randomly picked one and of course with my luck I picked Budullangr. So right now I have access to both Euclid and Budullandr

1) is there a way to reset the Artemis mission without starting a new game so I can pick a different galaxy? YES/NO

2) If I am in Bud (7th galaxy) galaxy and I want to reach Eissentam (10th galaxy) , I have to do the following:
- reach Bud galactic core and travel to Kik galaxy (8th)
- reach Kik galactic core and travel to Elt galaxy (9th)
- reach Elt galactic core and travel to Eis (10th)

YES/NO?

3) Can I use black holes to quickly travel towards the galactic core? YES/NO

4) Can the freighter warp longer distances than a spaceship? Can I use it for a faster travel towards the core? YES/NO

5) I came across a website with portal addresses near the core. Can I use the portal to travel to that star system and then reach the core? YES/NO

No, yes, sometimes, maybe and nope.

Holes let you hop maybe 3-7kLY at a time coreward. A good explorer can cover the same distance in 3-4 jumps, which is more than any freighter is capable of.

Portal is a dead-end situation. You can go wherever you like, but no further.

FML , at this point I wonder which will be faster. Starting a new game and pick the green orb or hop three more galaxies from Bud to Eis...

oh well, either way I am F%#$ED

thank you man.

oh one last question - what happens when you enter a new galaxy? Do I get to keep everything I own like my ships, exocrafts, blueprints, materials and my base? or is it a soft reset wiping everything I have? cuz if that's the case I'll just start a new game.

thanks

You keep it all, though any tech that isn't in a tech slot is wrecked by the transition and needs to be repaired afterwards. Bring ferrite dust or you'll be punching rocks for half an hour!

~~~
Oh, and some wiring looms too.
Thank you all, that was helpful for me also.
If you really hate where you are and don't want to go through the trouble of jumping through the center, use the save editor to change your galaxy number.
or be smarter and do the last jump/reset simulation with a throw-away ship and multi tool? (of course you'd still have to repair whats in your suit..)
I already have a throwaway ship. I just don't throw it away. That and the stockpile I keep for this very purpose means I can be patched up and on my way in less than 10 minutes.
Anything that can't be repaired on the spot is tucked away where the reset won't reach it.
