Also, while you're down there getting this Activated Copper, keep an eye out for brightly glowing rocks during storms, those are Storm Crystals. You can only harvest them while it's storming and they are worth a boatload of units (150k each, thereabouts) and are great early-game for building up enough to get a better multi-tool!
Just watch the storms. They hurt, a lot. Might want to make sure you got ample di-hydrogen to make launch fuel; you're going to be using your ship a lot as walking around on such planets is quite dangerous (or you could use an exocraft, if you have one).
If you get caught on the surface while it's storming, burrow underground until it passes if you can't get to your ship in time.
Yes, Yes you can? You can get all the activated as well as some other High Value mats.
I don't think fully repairing it changes how much you get buy much. At least I don't think the what you will get in scrap will be equal to the amount of activated copper you have to use. You probably would get more value scrapping the ship as is and selling the Activated Copper that was needed.
Unless the ship you found was S rank or a hauler with lots of storage space. Just fix the cheap slots for that little bit of a boost.
Heck, you SHOULD be wanting to warp to new systems anyways, because once you unlock the Anomaly, each system is 2 exosuit expansions (one from space station, one from anomaly).
