Hexite location - Void Egg echo location unknown

The echo location for Hexite does not appear anywhere so I have no idea where to find Hexite. I am stuck in the Starbirth quest trying to build a Consciousness Bridge. Is this a glitch? How can I reset the quest or find a source of Hexite?

There should be a icon on your hud that leads you to a crashed frieghter.

Make sure the mission is active then look around for a strange icon or a crashed frieghter icon. It's possible the icon is hidden by another icon.

If that doesn't work I don't know what else to do.

Thanks, I tried that - no icon. I did come across a crashed freighter but no hexite there. I give up!

Yep can't get hexite over here either. Always love playing No Mans Sky only to ultimately be frustrated and quit the game again because its somehow fundamentally broken.

Hint: visit your nearest space station and have a chat with the local guild representative. If the local guild representative will not talk to you, hit the mission board until their disposition improves.

Hexite can also be gathered from exotic critters - by slaughtering them - and is occasionally offered in small quantities as a reward for completing 'encrypted' missions at the Nexus.

Tried all of those options, no luck. The closest I get is killing the life form on a Fractured planet. It gives me Hex Cores (are these things useless?) but no Hexite. I guess I am stuck until the next patch is released, bummer!
