It is easy to get "lost" if you don't at least get past the initial base building part in the main mission. Best to not ever get rid of that initial base, even if you decide you hate the location. Otherwise you can end up with "mission out of range" issues or being give locations that are in the middle of space.

Just downsize it to a teleporter and a shack if it is not your cup of tea.

There are ways to fix the main mission issues, but simpler to just not have that issue.

Follow the in-game guidance. I recommend the Artemis Path first, because that mixes with the Expanding the Base mission. Do Atlas Path later.
And you probably will start new games, even if the first is successful, just to try something different. I have 5 well developed games and have scrapped a few more lol

The story is also told from a lot of different angles, like the abandoned building tell a side, so do crashed freighters and ancient ruins. And there's a lot of story.
I never restarted the game, so I don't know the new start and apparent tutorial, also I haven't read any guides or walk through's. Making discoveries and figuring things out has been where the real immersion has been for me.

The Artemis Path is what you want to do. That will take you through the story, however, I do suggest though once you get to the part of the Atlas Path titled "The Purge" I would suggest you go through the Atlas Path at that time. There are 2 ways to complete the main story. A through the Artemis Path, which takes you to the Center of the Galaxy, or option B which goes the Atlas Path which entails you doing some missions for the Atlas getting Atlas seeds. Both paths will end the story, however, option B gives you a very lucrative chance that you shouldn't pass up :P

It does? I did that path. It just gave me all of the glyphs.

I thought the atlas path resets the game? That's why I haven't finished that yet. I didn't see the point of doing that.

Yes, the Artemis Path's final mission is to Plunge Through the Center of the Galaxy.

Yes, that is true. However, it only resets the simulation which has basically no impact on the game. Nada and Polo will forget who you are, but thats about it. The Atlas Path is also the way to Birth yourself a new star system, and the only way to get the Heart of the Star recipe to continue birthing stars and for 2 Core Health upgrades that you can't get any other way.
