Anomalous Numbers Station

While i was hyperspeeding my way back and forth to planets collecting my resources, (I know teleporters exist but i like doing this from time to time to encouter anomalies) I encountered a green and gold cog machine thingy..

it gave me {{ ... 716 ... 731 ... 815 ... 605 ... 982 ... }}

Can anyone explain me what it is? I tried looking around and i did not see any answers to this

A lot of these deep space encounters do not seem to have any interaction or purpose. I'm hoping these will tie into a future update. There is a lot of potential here I am hoping it's not another half-baked feature that looks good in the trailer but had no real play value.

Hmm.... well, usually when you get a number sequence, it is trying to teach you something and you're supposed to predict the next number based upon the pattern used to get the previous numbers.

Though this one is different... hmm.. .... you shoulda told us what the options to input were. They shoulda given you 4 choices?

I tried a few sequence calculators, and there's something odd going on with this one. It's probably not any sort of equation or arithmetic... I wonder if it's a number re-arrange + arithmetic? Maybe arithmetic on every other number?

I'd need to see the choices.

Sorry for not being clear on my thread.. its a random encounter in space.. I was hyperspeeding then i got an anomaly notif.. then i stopped and saw the thing.. then it just gave me the numbers then nothing..

Ahh, okay. I thought it was perhaps one of those number puzzles like you see in communications stations and such.

I think this is some sort of long-term puzzle. There are a couple of encounter types that give a random group of numbers. All of them look something like portal coordinates, but are outside the current addressing range. Yours is 5 sets, probably in decimal, which looks like a signal beacon address, but it's not. It would be one of these two:
DEC: 0716:0731:0815:0605:0982
HEX: 02CC:02DB:032F:025D:03D6
Neither one is a valid portal address or any other type of address in the game.

I've also seen the following, which also look just like addresses, but are outside the current range:
0000:04ff:fd00:5ff4
0000:7a00:0629:999f

That's my guess. I think a new area. But who knows; maybe it's just random flavor.
