Half of them you can craft/buy from a trade terminal on your freighter, so it's not like its a time investment to get them. Only the combat one requiring walker brain is time consuming.
So, if you own a lot of frigates the overall answer is No probably, add more frigates to your mission instead.
The fuel one is helpful to reduce the mission time. The only downside is that you then just have to wait for the new missions to be timed in. It gets annoying to go through the process to get the dogs to come out for the fixin's.
I just got in the habit of picking up the fixin's for the main ones when I was at a small settlement. They seem to always have them.
They aren't necessary by any stretch, but they can help when you are trying to level up frigates that suck.
As for the other ones, I like to run all supply frigates, so using +30 is somewhat required when starting out. Either that or adding 1-2 regular frigates until the supply ones can go solo (and not consume any fuel).
Consumable frigate upgrades are very expensive for what they claim to do, especially explosive drones, which require walker brains, which are very difficult to acquire. By the numbers, they give only a very slight boost to frigate's stats of ten points. I don't think that's even the difference between a class C and a class B frigate, and they'll level up past that quickly. If I recall correctly, a full squadron of class C frigates is enough to succeed at a three star mission, or at worst, you'll get some minor damage, which is cheap to repair. (Has anyone ever even seen a four star mission?)
So I don't see any point in the game at which the expense of a consumable frigate module would be justified, unless there's some hidden benefit.
Every once in a while, when I need to resupply those. I go and cause trouble with sentinels on a planet and then fly up out of the atmosphere and take on a few waves of sentinel fighters to restock.
It kind of depends on how you are setup. Spoiler alert, credits become meaningless at some point. Once you have the right addons, taking out a walker is not really a big deal. It is more annoying to have to wade through the small sentinels and the dogs from a time perspective when all you want is a walker brain. I usually hang around so I can pick up two or three (if it will keep spawning).
The frigate missions become kind of stale after a while. I was mainly doing them recently just to get the drops of ingredients to make ignitors and such. The high value craftables are real money, even if you have played a long time. Nice if you want to upgrade a ship.
Using them reduces the number of ships you need to send on a mission to get the all important Fleet star rating, and so you need less fuel.
This is especially important when you are sending out combat Frigates which tend to be fuel hogs.
Not if the consumable is free ( see my sentence above about Nexus rewards ).
The others increase mission power by 20. One star is 50 so you would need 3 to gain a whole star. They are slightly useful when leveling up, but once you have a few class s you don't need them.
