why to leave the euclid galaxy?
ok, so I have been playing for a bit, and am wondering why to move to the next galaxy. all the wikis have become rather unclear to me.

so i like to ask you, why would I like to go to the next galaxy?
is there a increase something? will i find rarer stuff? or is it just a newgame+ thing?

Good question.
I reached the center of Euclid and was wondering.

Because the center of the next galaxy is a different color!

You'll probably never run out of places to explore in Euclid. Jumping to another galaxy via the center or a quest line is something to do to say you've done it. I jumped to Hilbert in the Pathfinder era. Did a new start when Atlas Rises dropped and chose to stay in Euclid. Started again with NEXT and hopped to Eissentam via the Atlas quest.

The proportions of the various planet types do change depending on the galaxy but, AFAIK, individual planets of a given type are similar across galaxies within the bounds of the RNG.

Each galaxy has different stats. For example, one galaxy has more % for hazard planets, and other dangers. Other galaxy has more pacific planets...

I'm not sure about if each galaxy is unique, or some galaxies has the same "bonus" (and different bonus from euclid) than others.

I have been to 7 different systems since starting to play this game with a total of 30 different planets and not once have I found a planet that doesnt have acid rain, radioactive dust storms, superheated weather and so on. EVERY single planet seems to have a negative environment that makes it necessary to recharge the hazard protection constantly.

Now THAT's some bad luck. Sorry.

The available evidence that each possible galaxy is one of four types[nomanssky.gamepedia.com]; each type differs in the frequency of certain types of planets in systems with yellow stars.

I was considering moving to Budullangr, an "abandoned" galaxy, because it would be easier to find exotic planets. But then I found out it's easy enough to find exotic planets around red stars in Euclid.

There aren't any types of planets you can't find in Euclid; for that matter, there's no type of planet you can't find in any type of galaxy. However, as one of the regulars likes to point out, in a "lush" galaxy like Eissentam, the fact that there are more "lush" planets means its not just easier to find a "lush" planet, but that it's easier to find one with ideal conditions, or with other qualities less common in Euclid.

With the increasing importance of multiplayer activity, since the overwhelming majority of players are in Euclid, moving to another galaxy comes with the cost of making it a bit harder to participate in that activity; or, it makes it easier to avoid it, depending upon your perspective.

It's worth bearing in mind that one of the advantages of remaining in Euclid, where there are more players, is that it makes it that much easier to ask people if they've found a particular sort of planet, or ship, or multitool, and to get the coordinates to it. So even if you're looking for something less common in Euclid, it may be easier to find after all.

Moving to a Tranquil galaxy like Eissentam bumps up the chances of discovering Lush Planets by a significant amount. Especially lush water worlds.

That was enough for me to leave Euclid.

I'm not sure how far you are with the story progression and missions but it helps to have the economy scanner upgrade. That can usefully tell you if the system is poor or afluent and everything in between. Rich systems give a greater chance of Exotic ships and also but not always more exotic biomes.

I suggest viditing systems with 5 or more planets to have a greater chance of one being a 'paradise' planet.. Those kind of planets also are more often found in coloured star systems. But again go for systems with the greater number of planets. It shouldn't take too long to find some. There are billions, literally out there... along with a billion or more that aren't!

When eventually you have the opportunity to galaxy hop choose wisely if you wish to linger in any particular galaxy, as some have more bias towards harsh environments whilst others less harsh. Euclid is more of a balanced galaxy, which you would expect for a starter galaxy. I prefer a more balanced galaxy, so can be surprised more often.

..................The next bit may contain some spoiler info:.....................

At present there is no advantage or disadvantage to travelling to another galaxy. There are buildings in Euclid that have a stramge room with holograms of planets not often entered as they are in hidden rooms needing an Atlas Pass. I hope the terminals within may one day allow us to plot a course back and forth across galaxies. I'm sure we will get that in an update some day. Galaxy travel should be a hard earned reward, based on how the game plays currently but there needs to be more of a reason for making the journey.

One reason I am able to return to Euclid from my Galaxy is during Community Events. The Portal travel allows it. But outside of that Galaxy travel can not be done by portal since NEXT arrived. Portal travel doesn't allow a journey to continue now from the planet on the otherside of the portal. Although indirectly a waypoint can be set, but that only helps if you are in the SAME galaxy of the portal address visited. A waypoint to a planet visited from another galaxy can not be set from the Discovery options screen. This remains the case ever since the game launched.

I don't think the game updates have reached that point yet. But with Quicksilver updates and maybe things to collect like discoveries, it would be fun to have players want to travel across galaxies to find these things like new ships or achieve sought after rewards. So I thnk the basic groundwork is in place for galaxy travel.

I'd love to be able to return to Euclid one day, pick up an ususpecting Gek and plonk them on a planet in a far off galaxy just to see the surprise on their face. Of course, I would take them back home... maybe if they're nice...

It's not impossible to teleport between galaxies, just not officially supported. I started a new game (in Euclid, of course) and once I got a base and teleporter up and running I discovered that one of the systems listed in the teleport list was the system where I had my main base in Eissentam, in a different save slot.

No clue how it got there but it is "live" and will allow one to teleport from Euclid to Eissentam. No return; the teleport list is wiped clean except for that one system so it's still a one-way trip. No freighter or additional ships/exocraft yet in the new save so don't know that they could be called-in from Eissentam but no reason to think that they couldn't.

Don't leave Euclid. Everywhere else sucks LOL

My current game my homeworld is on a lush planet in a Gek system. It used to have boiling hot rainstorms, but I've not seen any of those in a long time and I just spent hours driving around on the surface in my roamer. It should have rained at least once, but didn't. The planet has only 1 preadator and it's an uncommon creature, so I don't see it much. The only drawback is no ocean. No bodies of water at all. Just rolling lush green terrain with trees and mountains.

I've found another lush Korvax planet with similar super hot rain. Now this planet it does rain. I'm still driving around in my roamer looking for a portal on this planet. I'm seriously thinking of moving to this new planet. It has lush yellow terrain (I feel like they are rolling wheat fields) with trees and mountains. It also has plenty of water both in lakes, rivers (well, long narrow lakes), and ocean. I've not found a land predator yet and I've discovered about half the animals.

In my previous game that was before the Pathfinder update I had a base on a lush planet with no predators and the occasional freezing rain.

Ditto... that is a nice galaxy. I have a save that is in that Galaxy but don't play it much.
