How do you build around your Basecomputer
Hi all,

How do you manage to build around your Basecomputer, so that it looks nice, with the rest of your base ?

I'm building a Hexagone plate with the triangle plates, see screens below :

Once I finished, i use it as Starting Hub for the rest of the base : You can link the wall elements with the corridor elements, for the prefabric modules. (Or just leave it alone like a building of his own.)

Please show me your ideas for building around your Basecomputer.

My base computer stands in the dirt and I can't build around it at all. I would like an option to move it without deleting my base.

Well of course, but we don't have that option and that's the point. So I'm looking for good ideas. (Without messing around with save files only using actual game mechanics)
We have the option to move the BC by using the save game editor. You can swap the BC with the beacon. Just put a beacon where the BC should stay, save and exit the game, load the savegame editor and swap the positions with some clicks, done...

You could also bury it under dirt. I do wish you could snap a cuboid around it.

you have to have access to it so you can upload your base to the server. One of the things i do is just build around it, just a example take the base you made, enclose the base computer with solid wall or glass walls with a door to it and build your base around that, you can either make it a "room" or raise the ceiling and make it look like a base within a base, just use you imagination and go nuts, you will be surprised on what you can build

Pretty sure you can move the bc by building a second one then removing the first. That's how people build over the vertical build limit or expand their bases. If its in your teleport network you still need to warp away and back to it to register the new one again like if you rename a base, but that's it. Make sure to drop a save point and do a manual save before like always, just in case something goes wrong.

I generally try to put it on a slope next to a flat-ish area. That way I can kinda hide it under part of the base (like a balcony) and still have access to it.

I match the color of the base computer to the surroundings and give it a wood/golden touch, then I place it next to a rock or tree or on a little hill. It looks very nice there.

you can clip the large prefab buildings so it covers it to do so you need to lower the terrain after you place the base computer just enough so the floor doesnt clip it then just slowly place the prefab over the base computer starting around the edge works better with aquatic ones due to the glass window shapes.

On land I typically put a few walls and a roof at my base computer. Under water I've lately gone with an enclosure with a water door. In caves I place the computer on an incline and just place a floor beneath it. However, I normally don't make the computer the center of my main buildings. Instead, its usually halfway between an EM hot spot (if I can find one near where I want to build) and a main building. Normally I build with a portal in view.

That has been a PITA since the game started.

I would rather have had the ability to build at least a foundation before a base computer, so the base computer can sit ON it. I would have rejoiced at that, or the ability to move the base computer as an update instead of that Bytebox thing, that I'll never use.

I often build it above ground and grow a tree under to hide it.
