Having real problems finding Vy'keen daggers

Hi,

In all my hours of playing I have found 1 dagger. They are not in broken containers, cargo canisters, space station trading points or on NPCs.

I am finding loads of other stuff, Gek relics , Korvax casings etc but daggers - nada.

Looked at various threads on this and they appear to be from the before the Beyond update, so have they got harder to find - or is this game trolling just as I now need 2 for a mission?

Also kinda on the same subject - it looks like trade ships that land in stations just trade the same goods you can buy at the trade terminal. Is this a bug and if not then what's the point of the npcs if they offer the same stuff at the same prices?

Visit V'ykeen systems and their planets and explore. Open crates and barrels everywhere you find them. There are often more than one crate at various sites. Visit Outpots, Crash sites, explore buildings for the store rooms (on planets and at space stations, also Ancient Monoliths and answer questions. Using exocar scanners helps searching for ruins and monoliths much more quickly but often you come across crates simply wandering about on foot. Talk to NPCs. NPC pilots landing at Trading Posts can have one or more to buy or given as rewards.

If you do NPC missions in V'ykeen systems you'll come across crates and barrels as you explore or follow the mission directions. You're not 'wasting' time then just searching for a specific item.

The same applies to other races and their generic systems. Though you find most race relics throughout all systems.

As was stated, you're more likely to find them in V'ykeen systems. As for why NPCs offer the same things, it's so you can buy crap tons of say, ferrite dust for base building. That's what I did. It's dirt cheap and easier to buy than farm.

Almost every Vy'keen pilot I talk to sells daggers, not sure why you aren't finding any from them.

Easy to get vykeen daggers. Just go to any system controlled by vykeen. Summon your freighter and board it. Most visiting pilots will sell them.

Or on one of those systems just go to a trading post or minor settlement to find pilots.

Thanks for the replies. I finally found a trader with 5 by warping to a new system and looking at traders in my freighter.

So yeh got 'em.

But...

I am now being creamed by the sentinels.

Can't hide in ground, can't run too far away to recover, can't use ship and can't dive into base - if I do the mission resets and you have to start again. There are loads of threads here and elsewhere on this mission. I can do the first 2 waves - but when that quad arrives I'm toast. Oh and the personal shield is useless as all they do is have one drone hover over you and fire straight down while one of the others orbit you.

I'm on normal level and I know folk have done this, and some have said 'oh it was easy', but how?

I found a vykeen who literally kept giving me daggers over and over and over again every time I listened to his story. He was at a trading outpost. I would have kept doing it if they sold for more
