You will, however, now have access to build the Star Seed, which I *think* protects your exosuit tech from breaking in a black hole.
It's been that way for over a year now - anything that is neither stock nor in a tech slot can be affected. Conversely, a ship without the optional extras can pass through completely unscathed.
As far as I am aware the only thing the Star Seed adds is an extra health point.
Fly towards the wibbly... listen to the crescendo in the background and... nothing.
When they finally reintroduced the mechanic, one could occasionally 'miss' the black hole and have something mysteriously break the next time you warped regardless.
