Can't Activate/Interact with Ancient Plaque

I just got the game and am wasting time on the first two planets. Just now I bought a map from one of the Geks on the space station orbiting Reignto V, and it lead me to an Ancient Plaque called Ashes of the Smiab-Gume. However, unlike all the other monoliths and knowledge stones, I can't find a way to examine or interact with it? No prompt pops up when I move my cursor over it for me to press E or anything

Can someone tell me how to activate it, if it's even possible to do?

Can you upload a screenshot of the object, then we may have some idea what type you are looking at and where to direct you.

Look around the base of your monolith for a smaller 'stone' hemisphere or pyramid protruding from the ground. Put your cursor over it and hold down E... you won't often get a prompt from these but they will activate the monolith.

Wish I'd thought of that. Missed it whilst I was typing...slowly :)
